During my stay in Kittilä at the end of September I spent a few nights at the Golden Goose, a family guesthouse. As soon as you arrive, you are received affectionately and with a smile to melt the heart, by Henna. Be sure that it will put you at ease. If you have any questions about Kittilä and its surroundings, you are at the right address, do not hesitate to ask her, you will receive valuable information. Come and discover the Finnish charm!

We stayed two nights, one when we arrived at Kittilä airport , and the night before flying back home. Very easy to reach from the airport, parking space, a very warm welcome, you feel at home. They do not serve breakfast, but ther is a table with bowls, cutlery, kettles, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, coffee, sugar, fruits, oatmeal. You have a fridge in the room and the supermarket is across the street. Very good value for money.

Spent one night in Kittilä. We stayed in the golden goose and it was one of the best places of our trip. comfy rooms and in a excellent location to both Levi and Ylläs but it was the family that ran it that makes the difference, super friendly and willing to help where possible, they really make you feel welcome.

We spent two nights at this guesthouse, one before and one after our 5 day husky safari with Pallas Husky. We were very pleased with our stay and felt made at home by Henna. She was very friendly and gave good advice on where to go for a walk (the watchtower at the river) or where to get a full breakfast or a decent pizza within walking distance. Can we recommend this place? Absolutely! It is ideal for anybody needing a comfortable, cosy place to stay for a few nights near Kittilä airport.

My friend and I stayed here one night before travelling on to Muonio. It is literally a 5 minute drive from Kittilä Airport, and conveniently located within sight of the local supermarket and the local pizza place. Henna is very friendly and helpful, giving us directions to both places, and to the bus stop for the bus that takes you to the airport, if we wanted to save some money. She brought us right up to the room, and showed us where everything was. When we left in the morning she even called the cab for us. She made our first night in Finland very comfortable. The room was a basic room with two twin beds. We weren't looking for the Ritz, just a clean, comfortable room, and we got what we wanted. The down comforter was nice and warm, and we slept well. I loved my time in Finland, and would love to visit again some day. I will definitely make a point of staying at the Goose again. Thanks for a wonderful introduction to Finland, Henna, we loved it!…

We arrived at 2am at Kittila airport. We hurried off the plane and got a taxi directly to the guesthouse (20€). The keys were waiting for us on the counter. Our room was functional and very clean. It was a perfect place to stay after our late arrival, before starting our trip in Lapland. Good wifi, parking, 8min drive from the airport. (Just know there is no real breakfast included but biscuit apples tea and coffee available). Bed very comfy!

I stayed in Guesthouse Golden Goose for only one night in early jan 2018. Just to be safe I booked a private taxi from the airport to the guesthouse as my scheduled arrival time was 2335, for 40 Euro which was quite expensive (but there’s a possibility that one may have to wait for 2 hours for a taxi from the airport for 20 Euro according to Henna). My flight from London to Kittilä was delayed by over an hr so by the time I got to the guesthouse it was nearly 1am. Despite this Henna was there to welcome me. My room was room 10 and was the only room without an included shower. The room itself was clean, warm and simple. En suite toilet was also clean and functional. Guests at this room have to use the shower of the host family downstairs, which was OK. The only slight hassle was finding the light switch once I got downstairs - a bit of a scary experience! There was a supply of free coffee and tea on first floor, which was a nice touch.…

We only spent one night in the Guesthouse Golden Goose before moving on further north in Lapland. I was impressed even before I arrived with the friendliness and helpfulness of the host (Henna) via emails. The hotel is in the middle of town, close to everything and easy to find. The room we stayed in was really neat and nicely decorated and bed was super comfy; good value for money. I would recommend this guesthouse for anyone wishing to explore Kittila!

Quiet little place, in a quiet little town, apart from the snowploughs going up and down the main road (there was a blizzard outside to be fair). Very nice host, took very good care of us. The place did not offer breakfast but left drinks and fruit. It would be good to make some milk available to the guests - that way the British can make a nice cup of tea!
