I was looking for a great place to be, based on nice recommendations we got and i ended up on a nice room with very heavy smell from toilet. First i thought is a momentum and will disappear than during night i realized it gets worse. I announced the topic on reception and they checked and fixed for short time, during second night i had same issue. I see a big topic to go on vacation and sleep in heavy canal smell. Hopefully with this review the quest will find a solution for future. On reception i will keep profesional people ( i know is hard to find) as the waiting time and explanations were lasting to much.

Words cannot fully describe how amazing this place is. The staff were very friendly happy to help with any issues, polite professional and knowledgeable of the area. The activities we had planned were amazing we all loved it as a family. The staff taking us on our trips were full of knowledge and patience and proud of the work they do. We were the first to stay in the new cabin with the sauna and it was beautiful. We are a family of 5 and even with all the beds made up there was plenty of room. The whole cabin was pristine and spacious and well set up. The glass roof sold me the holiday in the first place but once we get inside you really appreciate it. Most nights we were able to just star gaze and aurora watch the kids were amazed. The food was outstanding every course well prepared home-made beautiful food. There was never a part of the stay where any of us didn't like what was put out. We will most definitely come back, and we cannot stop talking about it.

We stayed here in mid-November and they were just gearing up the peak season which seems to start in early December. So it was relatively empty and had more a bed-and-breakfast vibe than a hotel vibe. The place consistents of about 50 bungalows or huts, each with a glass-enclosed bed (with laser-heated glass to keep the windows frost-free). It is about a half-hour from Kittila airport and about 20 minutes past Levi, so it's both easy to get access and, let's say, well outside of town (where "town" isn't that big to being with). The service was warm and friendly. The food was very good either running a small buffet or basically cooked-for-you depending on how many people were there eating that day. In all cases, the food was excellent. The main room -- fireplace, cafe, sitting room, and dinning area all in one -- is impeccably done. The bungalows are great as well, we got the larger one, which had the glass-enclosed bed, a sitting area, a bathroom, and a sauna which was great. The room had a minibar which was appreciated as well. We did the husky farm visit which was fun and interested. We walked along the reindeer trail (but before the reindeer showed up as we were early season) and we did the Aurora Hunting in the wilderness which, when we visisted, was the difference between seeing the northern lights and not. (Technically, they were visible from the hotel but faint, and the guide took us to 2-3 places (total drive maybe 80 kilometers) over 3 hours where we saw the lights without light pollution and in beautiful settings. When they are in full bloom you can certainly see them from the comfort of your bed, but when they are not, you need to take this plackage to go find them. Seeing the northern lights, we've learned, requires the intersection of three things: clear weather (no clouds), solar activity (which is measured and forecasted), and ideally a dark night (e.g., not a full moon). My strong suggestion is to stay 3-4 nights if you want to be reasonably sure of seeing them. We stayed three nights and luckily did the aurora hunting on the best of them, and saw them -- not in full force, but certainly enough to justify the trip. We also did the sauna / hot tub program in the main facility and it was great. Superb sauna facility combined with going back and forth through the snow to the hot tub!

Beautifully done, both rooms and lodge. Chef is great! Wonderful breakfast and dinner, even when feeding only 2. Staff exceedingly friendly! Only negative- we visited in offseason, chasing northern lights. We were the only ones there. If weather had been perfect, it might be a 5. But not sure they should have even taken our reservation this early in the season. Truly nothing else to do, although they did provide us a personal tour to visit the dog sled teams. Trainer is great and it was nice of her to do it. There was a charge for everything! Go during the season, it should be great with snow!!

My husband and I visited late Sept and let me tell you everything was perfect! We loved the cabin with the glass roof (extremely well insulated and cozy), the staff were phenomenal, we ate SO well (every single thing we ate was out of this world), and the activities were unique and really made the trip one of our favorite parts of visiting Finland. We weren’t sure that we would see the Northern Lights based on the weather, and we both agreed it wouldn’t have mattered because everything else about that part of the trip was so great, and then on our last night we got the icing on the cake and saw them from a location recommended by our guide. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

The NLV in Levi is absolutely amazing. I got to see the northern lights twice in 4 nights, and do husky sledding and reindeer experience too. It was an amazing stay and i can't wait to be back! Staff were so friendly to us too.

Quite simply the best holiday experience we've had as a family. Our kids are old enough to understand and appreciate (13 and 10 year old) how rare and lucky we were to not only see the Northern Lights in all their glory, but to meet Santa, ride a Husky slay, drive Ski-doos, build massive snow men, learn to cross country ski and jump from icy waters into hot tubs! The experiences hosted by Northern Lights Village were brilliant, well organised and Professional. Big shout out and praise to Risto, who we had for the majority of our experiences. He was entertaining, knowledgable and incredibly friendly. The kids just loved him! Linda and Minna with the huskies were so knowledgable and accommodating, letting us spend a lot of time with the Huskies. Brilliant fun. Desley looked after us for the kids ski doo experience and was a wealth of knowledge. So nice having a team that are so engaged and passionate about what they do. As for the hospitality? Superb. The cabins were gorgeous, the main restaurant and reception was so warm and friendly with super food all week. Compliments to the chef(s) and reception staff for constantly giving off the warm family vibes. I couldn't recommend this resort enough if you're looking to tick off bucket list items! I'd highly recommend going for the best package suitable, include all meals etc. as it make the whole experience completely stress free. Thanks again and I hope to be back some time in the future.

This was one of the comments we read before we arrived and it was absolutely right. I wouldn’t call it a village. It’s one “bigger” building that includes everything (reception, bar, dinning hall and lobby) and the then the really really small cabins. Don’t bring any luggage with you because there is no space to store it. The glass roof is a nice gadget but that’s basically it. Warm water for max 15 minutes and every time a completely flooded bathroom afterwards also doesn’t really help to have a cosy feeling. So if you wanna sleep one night in a hut with a glass roof do it. But that’s it then.

Last week we stayed for 5 nights in an Aurora Cabin in The Northern Lights Village in Levi. It was amazing. The cosy rooms with glass roof were extremely clean, a electric fireplace, a heavenly bed and large bathroom with sink, toilet and large shower. The breakfast, and exceptionelly the lunch- and dinnerbuffet are very yummy, lots to choose from. Good choices of cold starters, hot dishes with fish and meat, desert, coffee and thea. Thumbs up for the chef ! We did everyday a different activity, the dogsledding, the snowmobile safari during the day, two times the aurorahunting by snowmobile by night, and the raindeerday. In the evening we took the Finnish sauna and hot openair jacuzzi. We must say, the guides are very friendly, know everything about the stars, the northern lights, how to make fire wihout matches, ... The guides Ristoff, Vladimir and especially Mina were very friendly, pleasant and professional. What a holiday we had ! And I almost forget to mention ... we saw the northern lights 3 times !!! If you like to see the northern lights, love to do snowmobiling and dogsledding in a clean, safe and luxurious environment, love good food, look no further, you can experience it all in one place, The Northern Lights in Levi. Thanks again to all of the lovely crew !!

To be fair, we had high expectations. Besides from the cabin, which was stunning, everything was mediocre. Below average service (had to wait up at the desk for 10 minutes to get served at the bar multiple times, no help with luggage to the rooms despite icy paths - just multiple small occasions that added up), food was okay (and you had to get cutlery yourself, none of the dinner tables was dressed), activities were crowded (shared a mini tent with 18 people on the northern lights hunting tour, and we could only go at very low speed as our one (!) guide for 18 people was also pulling two sledges). Also, the hotel makes sure to extra charge for everything: just one example, using the sauna comes to 100€ for an hour. At some point, you feel ripped off. That is it you don’t book the experience and room rage package on their website. Overall, we loved staying in the cabins, which are designed with careful attention to detail and will surely provide great views to whoever visits. We were just a little disappointed, potentially due to the high expectations that come with the premium prices (for the stay and the experiences alike). I usually don’t do any reviews, but I just wanted to highlight some points to the hotel that would help to improve experiences for their guests, so I felt like it may be worth it.
