Love this old fashioned hotel from the 50’s. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Hotel is in a good location. Staff is really friendly and the breakfast great. Only negative is the outdated bathroom, but its clean.

The internet was not working on the second floor and when I complained in the morning, i was told it will be rectified by the staff, but in evening when there was other staff and I complained again she told me it does not work on 2 floor, if you want I can change the room. The hotel has only one small lift so it takes ages to reach your room as were in a group. The food was good and we enjoyed sauna too. The place is next to the market place so you can easily walk . Centrally located. The hotel really need one more king size elevator

Could be a nice hotel but the air conditioning in the room is too noisy and it is not possible to adjust or turn it off. When the wind comes from the paper mill nearby you get also a terrible smell into the room.

Kemi is a very small town and the hotel Merihovi is fairly central, just a short walk to the waterfront and the Ice Castle. All the reception team we dealt with were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very quiet, which is the main thing you want from a hotel, however the decor was a little dull. The hotel is attached to a bar which offers food and we enjoyed an excellent meal and some great local beers. Can't imagine visiting Kemi again, but if we did, then we would be very happy to stay at the Hotel Merihovi.
