My experience at Ivalo was just awesome and Ivalo River Camping made just great. It was very exciting being here in winter season and I was lucky enough to witness some Aurora lights just on the frozen lake in front of camping site. Thanks to Mr Mathie, he was just another nice person to have a good conversation and he is very friendly. The whole camping site made and maintained very clean and at-most care towards guests. Out of my whole Europe trip, Ivalo is cherry on the cake. And my stay is made this more memorable and enjoyed all my time at this camping site. My special Thanks for a wonderful Salman soup, I still remember the flavourful and yummy soup with some bread. Overall, a nice place to stay, and specially if you’re visiting for a picnic,I’m sure you’ll enjoy more than me. I’d love to come back to Ivalo and hope I’ll say Hi again to Mr Mathie. Thanks for a wonderful stay :) I loved it 😎

I loved my stay here! The facilities are simple, clean, and everything you need. You can be very comfortable while still getting the experience of being out in nature. My cabin was also positioned where I could step right outside and see the Northern lights! Additionally, I felt very welcomed by the staff, who all were keen to tell me to please ask for anything I should want or need. Everyone was very friendly and I never worried about being a bother. I was able to borrow a bike from the reception and cycle all around the area. It was so much fun going hiking and also biking up and down along the river and into town. The scenery is amazing. You can also hear huskies barking from time to time :) This property is very accessible by bus and is a 5 minute drive from Ivalo airport (I actually walked). I would absolutely recommend this property and if I return to Ivalo I would love to stay here again.

I have stayed at Ivalo River Camping several times over the years and it suits my needs perfectly. If you do not require a five star hotel experience, this is a great budget option in Ivalo. The new owners and staff are super friendly. The facilities are simple and that works for someone who only needs a warm place to sleep. The toilet and shower facilities are in a separate building with a kitchen and this is typical of a camping facility in Finland. There is also a restaurant on site.

Very economic camping. the staff is very pleasant and gives good advice. Breakfast at will excellent and friendly common room. I would just put a small negative point on the showers. there is no hot water if you go last. Opportunity to make beautiful walks in the forest behind the campsite and mini reindeer farm

I stayed in a small cabin. Basic equipment but fine for a short stay of one night. The camping is located right on the side of the road so you can hear the traffic from the cabin (but, yes, you are in north of Finnish Lapland, so no trafic jam...). Cleanness of the shared areas (showers, toilets, kitchen) is the weakest point according to me: this should be really improved (at least to a minimum). Also, for the camping area/cabins: very few toilets and showers. But very nice staff! I think price is quite fair for the services offered

Stayed here over a long weekend at the beginning of March for my partners 40th birthday so we were hoping we would see the northern lights etc. We chose to stay here as it had the kind of feel of staying in a log cabin in the woods surrounded by snow which sounded great. The place is actually only a 6 or 7 minute drive from the airport but when you get there it feels like its out of the way. I booked the Koppelo (probably spelt wrong) cabin that is designed for 6 ppl to stay but i was able to have it just for us 2. It was a bit out from the hotel reception area so it felt nice and isolated like a cabin in the woods but also just the comfort in your own head that you were near ppl lol. The cabin was great, lovely and warm, private sauna which we used just the once. Lovely big shower head, plenty of hot water. The facilities were there if you wanted to cook and make your own food but you must leave the place as you find it and i wasnt gonna start trying to clean off grease and crap. All we used was the kettle for coffees. We chose to eat mostly in the adjoining restaurant/bar beside reception. The food is pretty good but limited. Lovely burgers and cheese and bacon toasties but by day 3 i really wanted something fresh like a baked potatoe and salad but i understand its really just a thing to feed numbers of people who are maybe in a rush to go about their daily activites. Its not really a proper restaurant. All the staff were friendly and when we arrived on our first night at about 9pm when it was very dark and freezing, one of the staff said he would give us a lift up to the cabin so we would then know where it was and get our bearings,, so we were grateful for that. They also have a small area for buying little souveneirs. And they have an entire room full of warm onesies and boots you can hire if going out on husky rides and stuff. The camp also offers its own range of snowy activities. I didnt avail of these, i had separately booked another company for our husky ride...we wanted to do more...the camp offers ice fishing, my partner loves fishing....but its about £100 each and apparently it lasts 4 hours...everything is very expensive...not just the things the camp offers but all companies and snow activities...there is nothing under the price of €100-120...and really...you wouldnt be able to sit out in that freezing temperature for 4 hours...its a struggle to stand and sit about for 1 hour as we found at the 2 hour husky ride...think pain...not just your a wee bit cold...(well i suppose it depends where your from, you might be used to extreme cold) but your in pain from the cold....but its all very beautiful. We had great weather...lots of sunshine, lots of snow, lots of laughs, snow angels and a terribly built snowman

Lovely area to stay in. Perfect for a solo traveller. Very warm room, lovely staff, comfortable place to sit in the bar, reindeer onsite, bus stop right outside hotel that can take you to and from Rovaniemi. A little bit away from the town, which initially seems a bit too quiet although soon the still beauty of the accommodation is perfect.

Warm welcome, key advice, very comfortable cottage (we were 6) well equiped, we enjoyed the small sauna each evening after activities. The team helped us to plan our activities and we did one snowbike&ice fishing safaris with them. To sum up good place only 10min from the airport and 5min from Ivalo center.

An amazing experience in the heart of Lapland! The location is near a glaced river (during the winter) and the bungalows are into the forest for an incredible glance! A very kind staff and a nice organization with safaris.
