Peaceful and relaxing. Cottage is equipped with everything that is needed for any length of stay. Lots of sports equipment to rent on site, WiFi working very well. Place pretty easy to find and only 10km from Inari where all the shops and other attractions are.

few minutes drive away from the center of Inari, you really need a car to get there (I'm driving, so didn't know is there any bus go there).
I stayed in the dorm for 3 nights, it was very clean and nice, I think there not many solo traveler staying there, so I got the whole room by myself. And it does have kitchen, so you can cook for yourself (that's what I did).
the youth center do have sauna, laundry room, wifi etc. (btw I tried the icy swim, it was awesome hahaha).
And the price was extremely low only 25 euro/night if you are under 30.
Really recommend this place to stay ^^

This is a really beautiful place in the middle of nowhere! Good to experience beautiful nature of lapland and try how it is to live far from civilization... Cottages are very nice and warm eventough it was -30 degrees outside and meals (breakfast + dinners) were also very good... Magical atmosphere and high chance of seeing northern lights above the lake or forest that are a couple of meters away from your cottage!

Came here in a large group and stayed in a cabin with friends. The cabin itself was beautiful. However, the stairs going up to the loft are extremely steep and narrow-I fell down them and injured myself. The WiFi is only available at the reception, which is a bit frustrating. For a cabin of 8-10 people, there are only 2 stove burners and no oven. Overall it is a nice place, but there are quite a few downsides to it as well.

Like many others, I stayed here for 4-5 nights as part of an ERASMUS student trip. My friends and I chose to stay in a wooden cabin (a whole cabin by itself) instead of a normal hostel-like room (which was part of the main wing). There were about 8 of us to a cabin, but there were only 2 beds and 3 mattresses, so 3 people had to sleep on the sofas/couches.
The interior of the cabin wasn't too spacious, but it was warm and cosy. Having lived a concrete jungle in a bustling city my entire life, I found staying in an isolated wooden log cabin a very refreshing change indeed. Though the temperature outside was freezing, it was very warm inside the entire cabin. In fact, this was one of the only places I have been in winter where taking a shower wasn't a cold affair. There was also a fireplace, cooking materials and a fridge.
In the main building, there is free WiFi and a computer you can use to surf the internet (who brings their laptop to the arctic anyway?) There is also a games room, in which is a pool table, a table tennis table and lots of games. From the main counter you can rent warm clothing, scarves and the like for a small charge.
In fact the only main issue I had with this place was that there was no aurora alarm or alert of any sort, which means we had to stay out in the cold for hours to wait for the aurora borealis (northern lights) to appear!
The location of this place is unearthly, and you definitely need some kind of tour bus or transport to take you there. There isn't any hospital or convenience store in more than a 100km radius (LOL!), so that is worth taking note of. However, it is quiet and nice, being just beside a big lake. The staff can organise activities based on your preference, which include cross-country skiing, GPS wilderness orienteering and the like.
I will definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ivalo/Inari. It isn't the cheapest or most convenient of places, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and wouldn't hesitate to be back again.

Special praise goes to the staff. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I got recommendations for beautiful small hiking trails nearby. The landscape and the lake around the hostel were beautiful as you can see in the attached picture.

If you're looking to get away from the city and be surrounded by nothing but nature and beautiful sunsets, this is the place to be. The cabins were clean and spacious even though I was sharing it with 7 girls. There's no other facilities or stores in the area so it's helpful to get snacks and whatever else you might need since you're pretty much out in the middle of nowhere!
