I really enjoyed the stay in Vasatokka. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food incredibly yummy! The sauna was very nice. Suoer close you can find a lake with a fire place and many opportunities to go for a hike !
Unique location, fantastic nature, beautiful lake. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. Perfect place for youth camps, meetings, projects. Staff speaks very good english, but services nad information sometimes are provided too slow.
Special praise goes to the staff. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I got recommendations for beautiful small hiking trails nearby. The landscape and the lake around the hostel were beautiful as you can see in the attached picture.
If you're looking to get away from the city and be surrounded by nothing but nature and beautiful sunsets, this is the place to be. The cabins were clean and spacious even though I was sharing it with 7 girls. There's no other facilities or stores in the area so it's helpful to get snacks and whatever else you might need since you're pretty much out in the middle of nowhere!
If you are travelling to Lapland hunting Northen Lights, this is the perfect place. At 7 minutes from the dorms you have the lake totally outside from any type of artificial lights, so if you want clarity this is a good idea. There is also a point of view opposite to the lake that is fantastic. In there you can use the sauna, play room, tv and places to do sledging. Plus, we build an iglu and slept the last night in there, we rented some sleeping bags and the people there were very nice worry about our safe.
Lots of stuff for rent at affordable prices. The cabins were nice and spacious (no wifi in cabins). Only 1 bathroom for 10p was a little short. Saw northern lights and beautiful scenery. Recommended visiting after november with snow and high northern lights chances. Staff of Timetravel was very nice and helpful. Skiing was not so special compared to alps. Reindeer farm was cool due to very nice people. Husky farm not as much. Trip to arctic ocean was all right but quite a long ride.
We were a group of sixteen people and we stayed there four days. We had plenty of room in the cabin, big common rooms. Sauna was open every day for an hour just for us. The area was beatiful with wide landscape. You could climb into a small tower nearby for a higher view. The restaurant is not always open but cooking was easy. Staff was very polite and helpful. Overall lovely place.
I really wanted to stay in a romantic glass roofed hut, but by the time I worked out what all the different tours and activities I wanted to do. This ended up being the most economical and accessible while still being remote in location. It's a lot like being on a youth camp but was very easy because of it. I ended up ice fishing, skiing, snow shoeing, driving a husky sleighing and reindeer sleighing. These were kind of touristy but good. My favourite parts of the trip, was when I went further north to a king crab fishing town to go saunering? and swimming in the arctic ocean and the openness of the area and night skies. The area is so open you can see vast sky ranges of stars, I also saw the northern lights every night. That's not a guaranteed thing but has a high frequency there.…
Lovely owners, beautiful guest house in a wonderful place. Wonderful place to see nothern lights. Wonderful cottages in front of the lake.. Wonderful hostel at very low price.. I highly recommend it to everyone.
This is a really beautiful place in the middle of nowhere! Good to experience beautiful nature of lapland and try how it is to live far from civilization... Cottages are very nice and warm eventough it was -30 degrees outside and meals (breakfast + dinners) were also very good... Magical atmosphere and high chance of seeing northern lights above the lake or forest that are a couple of meters away from your cottage!
