Last minute booking turned out way better than expected. Very clean room. Comfy beds. The evening sauna was perfect. One for women and one for men heated up each night. The breakfast was very good, offering typical Finnish foods such as Karelian pastries, pancakes, crisp bacon and eggs etc. Nice family hotel vibe.

Very nice place to sleep, and a very good breakfast. Stay for one night. The sauna was ready, but it was so hot already, so I dont used it. I has stayed i this hotel earlier, and I will use it again if it possible.

Booked a Transun trip to Finland and missed out on the first trip so when this came up as a different hotel we booked it. SO glad we did. The hotel is lovely, very cosy, warm and friendly. Always a good selection of food, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Great location and lovely little town and some nice walks out. Close to the lake which was frozen while we were there so great for walking. Highly recommend and would love to go back again.

We stayed in this family run hotel for 4 nights and couldn't have had a better stay. It is warm cosy and inviting. Run by a lovely family. Tucked away in the snowy wonderland that is Hetta. Just what you need after a day in the snow. The place is so well maintained and clean. The home cooked food is beautiful particularly the salmon dishes and the hot chocolate the best daughter has ever tasted! The rooms are cosy yet spacious and the underfloor heating in the bathroom an added luxury. I would return tomorrow if I could. Thank you so much! Holiday of a lifetime!

Fantastic place .the staff were all friendly. It was a family run hotel, and all worked so hard .the food was great and homemade. I think they must have been cooking constantly.nothing was too much trouble .paths were cleared outside of snow. There were lots of games to play, and a small area where you can get drinks hot chocolate with baileys was nice paula was there all the time To go to if you need anything

What a little gem! The hotel is super cozy and feels untouched in many ways. The rooms are well planned, comfortable, clean and cozy. We stayed here twice, one night each. I would definitely be back. Breakfast was simple but had everything you need.

Dear Linda, thank you a lot for for visits and lovely review. We are very happy to hear your family enjoyed the stays and you wanted to come back for another night and would like to come again. Maybe in the winter? :) It is great you felt cozy as this really is my family's home where I have grown up and we do still live here ourselves :) Our rooms really are perfect for families as children usually love their 'own loft and space'. We hope to see you again so welcome back! Have a good rest of the summer! With kindest regards, Majatalo's Tiina & family

Hotelli Hetan Majatalo is a small, friendly, warm and happy family-run hotel in Enontekio, which is an excellent basecamp for exploring the Finnish Lapland fells (tunturi) area. This is how we used it as a small photography tour group with @Salamapaja. Tiina at reception was always attentive, conscientious and very helpful. The kitchen-dining space is warm, convivial and crowded, and you will always get a good Finnish meal here! The place has been run within the family for almost 100 years (centenary in 2024) and it feels like a real home. A few steps out the front will be a supermarket, cash machine and bus stops. Out the back (if it is dark enough) will be a surprisingly good sheltered spot for watching the northern lights dance above the treetops. Plenty to do here in winter or summer; Hetta Huskies next door, wilderness centre within walking distance, Jyppyraa campfire hut (kota) above and Ounasjaarvi Lake right below. Highly recommended, and like many people who stay here, you may also find yourself returning this as basecamp year after year!

We were supposed to do only a stopover for one night on our way from Norway to Sweden. However we could not reach our hotel in Norway as the road was closed and there were no other hotels nearby in Norway. So we called this family hotel asking whether we can stay 2 nights instead of 1 but we will be arriving between 3am and 4am....They immediately said yes and saved us from having to sleep in our car that night! We cannot thank them enough! On top of that Hetta happened to be a gorgeous place with a beautiful forest where we snowshoed following the recommendations of the hotel staff. They also recommended a spot to watch the Northern Lights and we spotted them! The room was super cute and comfortable, we absolutely loved our stay at this family hotel! Thank you and we will definitely visit again!

Stayed here through Transun UK Ltd and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very clean and warm. Rooms had everything and were warm and cosy. Had use of a Sauna. Food was fantastic especially the salmon. Tina was very helpful. The little souvenir shop was very resonable. Hotel is in a good location, only five min walk from the local supermarket. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed here on a 3 night transun trip in early December. We absolutely loved it, the hotel is lovely and Is in beautiful surroundings! The food was lovely, home cooked, warming and filling! The family work really hard at this hotel and it shows! It’s extremely relaxed and comfortable! We met a great group of people while staying! The hotel has a great spot at the back for seeing the northern lights and a great area nearby for sledging! I’m sad to be home and will definitely return!
