Usable with downsides

The hotel is easy to find, however don't be confused by the pub/disco, you need to get in from the side (where the bigger parking lot is). Front desk/bar stuff is nice. However I haven't had to try the late reception at the pub/disco, only at the bar (the reception looks like a bar, as it really is one). The outside and inside are equally old-style and simple, fit for purpose. It's OK for a 3 star hotel, that's all. We had a room upstairs, it was accessible but would have been a bit of a pain with big/heavy luggage as I haven't seen an elevator. The room was bigger than expected, had 3 beds, two pushed together in the middle and one separately. It had a small hallway from which the bathroom and the room opened. The bathroom is very small and has no separation on the floor for the shower and the toilet, therefore if someone showered, the whole floor is wet. It looks dated (like everything else) but it is functional. The room itself is OK at this level. The beds are not extremely soft luckily, however the pillows are (I had to use two of them to give any support). There's only one power outlet next to the beds, so someone won't reach their phone while charging at night. There was a TV but we never turned it on so I cannot comment on it. However there's a very noisy fridge in the room as well, which likes to turn on at night too. Sleep quality is further disturbed by the pub/disco noise that was a constant until very, very late (don't know the actual time but definitely well after midnight). Also, there's no noise insulation at all, so if someone walks and/or talks on the corridor, it can wake you up. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the loud farting or blowing the nose from neighboring bathroom(s). The breakfast is really below any standard. Tiny selection which runs out quickly. It's possible to ask for more but it seems like they never have more than one person around, so if someone checks in or out while you would like to eat something -bad luck for you! Summary: it's easy to find, easy to park, OK to use for a short stay if you spend no time in the room other than sleeping -if you're a solid sleeper who isn't disturbed easily! I would like to say that it's too expensive for what is provides, but sadly there's not much selection in the area. It's not really bad -but not good either. Usable but better to stay in a better hotel in Kuopio.…

Good Place to Stay

Stayed here whilst working in Siilinjarvi, it's clean and tidy and ran by two very nice people. There's a small bar in reception and another bar just around the corner although that can be quite noisy at weekends. There are a few supermarkets up the road plus a couple of bars/restaurants as well.

Nice and tidy hotel

Sandels is a nice and tidy hotel. We got a spacious room from the second floor ( 314). Nothing special, but just good room with all necessary amenities. Breakfast was good enough and there was few tables on outside terrace as it was beautiful and warm morning. The local pub we were warned about was not an issue at all for us. Our room was just opposite side of the building and there was disturbance from the pub. Nice quiet stay in in a fair place.
