My wife and I recently spent three nights at Lomamokkila during the Savonlinna opera festival. We were both absolutely charmed nd entranced by the B&B, the location, and the hosts.

The room we stayed in was very large and very comfortable, with great views to the lake. The shower was fantastic, the bed comfortable, and location excellent. The breakfast provided by the hosts, Laura and Karlo, was just right, and made a great way to start the day.

As we were attending the opera at Savonlinna Castle during two nights of our stay, we took advantage of the early dinner and shared taxi ride to the festival. I strongly recommend this for all non-locals

The hosts could not have been more charming or more helpful. They helped to ensure we had everything we needed, and gave suggestions for things to do during the day.

I strongly recommend this place, and strong 5 star rating!

We took a lucky guess with this place for 2 nights while visiting Savonlinna. It is a peaceful countryside farm set up. Our chalet was small but clean and we shared a kitchen dining room with other guests which we only used for morning tea and fridge storage. It worked well and was also clean and well laid out. We had a really excellent buffet dinner there on the second night, so much better than the rubbish meal we had in savonlinna the night before! Breakfast was also excellent. The food was a very pleasant surprise, it was outstanding and reasonably priced. Book your dinner there!! The hosts were very nice and welcoming and explained everything well. The weather was really very good which helped with our enjoyment of course, and allowed us to go out on the lake with one of their rowing boats after dinner. A lovely place and we would gladly return again.

One of the nicest places we stayed in Finland, and we wish we could have stayed longer. Friendly and helpful family.

A really cool lakefront sauna was available (for a small reasonable fee), which we sadly didn't use.

The property is clean, and beautifully appointed. Very quiet.

We loved Lomamokkila. I stayed there with my family for four nights. We had two cottage rooms and room 3 in the main house. I stayed in room 3, which overlooked one of the farm’s fields, where the long-haired cows grazed in the morning mist. The room itself was light-filled, with high ceilings and simple but elegant furnishings. The owners were lovely, accommodating our late arrival and offering helpful advice. Lomamokkila is situated in a dreamy halcyon spot a short drive outside Savonlinna. If you are a cyclist, it would be a perfect spot to stay and explore the many backroads of the Lake District. And if you are in Savonlinna for the opera festival, staying at Lomamokkila is perfect. If you don’t have a car, they can help arrange a taxi for you. The food served and the dining areas are perfect. Swimming and row boating on the lake was divine. We had the lake to ourselves and enjoyed skinny dipping amongst the lily pads. Altogether a very pleasant experience in this enchanting part of Finland. Would happily return.

Another superb Lomamokkila visit, this time in a comfortable lakeside cabin!

The cabin for four was convenient, relaxing and clean. Its sauna and the lake offer perfect relaxation. Long 'beer' stays on the lakeside patio were cozy and thought-provoking, Deep sleep in the quiet, peaceful nature took us 'faraway'.

Delicious breakfasts at the main manor were so balanced. The 'crepes' afternoon by the next family generation showed plenty of promise towards the happy future for this wonderfully exemplary agriturismo.

The service gene of hosts Laura and Kalle is beautiful and perfectly developed. Small wonder Lomamokkila absolutely feels 'home away from home'. BRAVO! GRAZIE MILLE!

We stayed here in December which is out of their main season so we were the only people there. The accommodation we stayed in had a comfy double bed, bunk beds for the boys, a bathroom and TV. There was a large communal kitchen a few doors down that had tea and coffee and facilities to cook our own food if needed.

The following morning we were invited to the main house for breakfast which was amazing. A great selection of local foods all traditional continental breakfasts.

There was also a farm which you can explore and access to a lake that was frozen while we were there but was very picturesque.

we enjoyed our short stay here and recommend.

Very special to this place was the owner couple's friendliness and positive service attitude. They had time to talk with all the visitors about what they're doing and gave tips to make their visit to the region even better. Their tips and ideas were given in a respectful manner, which made it even better.

We stayed for two nights in the main building upper floor room which was very clean and nicely decorated. Though there were other guests at the same time, it was very quiet. Breakfast was a tasty, traditional Finnish breakfast selection and I liked it very much.

For the second evening, we booked a sauna visit. There's a lake 800 meters from the Lomamokkila, and there they have rowing boats to use freely for the guests. It was a perfect sunny summer afternoon first in the lake with a rowing boat, and then sauna and swimming after. It really made our stay even better.

Excellent place to visit. Stayed 2 nights in main house and everything was perfect. Super clean, nice and relaxing athmosphere with owners. Dinner with local fish and meat made from their own highland cows was unbelievable with some taste of wild animal. Dinner was fulfilled by quality wines for reasonable price.

Only negative part (depending on our own schedule) was that we had no time to visit the smoke sauna but that will be hopefully done next time ;)
