A lovely place with lovely family Björn hosting. Clean lake nearby for swimming and fishing. Easy acces to opetafestival in Savonlinna by a cheap taxi. Lovely homy breakfast. Here I come again every year.
We took a lucky guess with this place for 2 nights while visiting Savonlinna. It is a peaceful countryside farm set up. Our chalet was small but clean and we shared a kitchen dining room with other guests which we only used for morning tea and fridge storage. It worked well and was also clean and well laid out. We had a really excellent buffet dinner there on the second night, so much better than the rubbish meal we had in savonlinna the night before! Breakfast was also excellent. The food was a very pleasant surprise, it was outstanding and reasonably priced. Book your dinner there!! The hosts were very nice and welcoming and explained everything well. The weather was really very good which helped with our enjoyment of course, and allowed us to go out on the lake with one of their rowing boats after dinner. A lovely place and we would gladly return again.…
We stayed here in December which is out of their main season so we were the only people there. The accommodation we stayed in had a comfy double bed, bunk beds for the boys, a bathroom and TV. There was a large communal kitchen a few doors down that had tea and coffee and facilities to cook our own food if needed. The following morning we were invited to the main house for breakfast which was amazing. A great selection of local foods all traditional continental breakfasts. There was also a farm which you can explore and access to a lake that was frozen while we were there but was very picturesque. we enjoyed our short stay here and recommend.
Excellent place to visit. Stayed 2 nights in main house and everything was perfect. Super clean, nice and relaxing athmosphere with owners. Dinner with local fish and meat made from their own highland cows was unbelievable with some taste of wild animal. Dinner was fulfilled by quality wines for reasonable price. Only negative part (depending on our own schedule) was that we had no time to visit the smoke sauna but that will be hopefully done next time ;)
We visited to the family children pizza+ pancake- bar in the villas garden. They were both delicious, i can warmly recommend to everyone! In the property they have also hereford cows, dogs etc. And everything is very clean and the Björn family really welcomes everyone. Beautiful place to be in a warm summerday!
Spent a peaceful weekend visiting Savonlinna and Kolovesi national park. Comfortable accomodation and friendly staff made our stay memorable. Pleasant countryside location provided an unique atmosphere. I would highly recommend this establishment if you are travelling in Savonlinna area.
We stood here for one night, sadly, because place was amazing and beautiful. This place is for full relax, meditating, maybe yoga outdoors. Everything was so clean and we felt very welcomed. Breakfast was great home style brekkie and my gluten free diet was taken care of too 👍 absolutely 5 points!
Very special to this place was the owner couple's friendliness and positive service attitude. They had time to talk with all the visitors about what they're doing and gave tips to make their visit to the region even better. Their tips and ideas were given in a respectful manner, which made it even better. We stayed for two nights in the main building upper floor room which was very clean and nicely decorated. Though there were other guests at the same time, it was very quiet. Breakfast was a tasty, traditional Finnish breakfast selection and I liked it very much. For the second evening, we booked a sauna visit. There's a lake 800 meters from the Lomamokkila, and there they have rowing boats to use freely for the guests. It was a perfect sunny summer afternoon first in the lake with a rowing boat, and then sauna and swimming after. It really made our stay even better.…
My fiancé and I stayed in one of the double rooms in the main building for 3 nights in July. This was our first visit to Savonlinna and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay at Lomamokkila. The place is charming, immaculately clean and quiet, and we loved swimming and having a sauna by the small lake. We had a delicious dinner on one of the nights and would have had it more times but unfortunately there was no dinner service on Sundays. We also enjoyed the local beers and cider, and a great selection of reasonably-priced wines was available at dinner. Overall, Lomamokkila provides excellent value for money. Some small things that would have made our stay even greater: - The mattress seemed old and wasn’t the most comfortable - assuming the beds in the annex buildings may be newer so may book one of those next time - Blackout curtains in the rooms would be great - Nice shampoo in the bathrooms; adding shower gel and conditioner would be a nice touch - The dinner was very early for us being at 6 pm already - during the holidays we like to eat later - Stronger coffee and oat milk would be a good addition to breakfast All of this said, these are minor details and we would definitely stay at Lomamokkila again. Extra points for the cute highland cows!…
Lovely B&B in the countryside. Well taken care of, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Good place for groups and families. There is a sauna by the lake, approx. 1 km walk there. Booking recommended. The only small improvement to the rooms would be proper darkening curtains. Finnish summer nights are so bright.
