A family owned boutique style hotel, with 6 individually styled rooms. Situated in the heart of the Old Town area of Savonlinna, very close to theSt' Olaf's Castle and Lake Saimaa. The fantastic rooms are very spacious and all rooms, except one, have ensuite facilities. Cafe-restaurant Saima is located in the same building.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Saima recently and it was the perfect choice for a short stay in Savonlinna. The location is awesome, a two minute walk away from Olavinlinna Castle and close to the lakeside walkways.
The rooms are adorable and seem recently remodeled in period style. We stayed in the green room and it was beautiful, with high ceilings and plenty of space. The person who checked us in was really friendly and we learned when we checked out that she was part of a local family who also own a bakery in town.
We booked directly through the Hotel's website and our booking included breakfast. The breakfast was left in the fridge for us to serve ourselves in the morning and included some pastries, cold cuts, cheese and yoghurt parfait.
Definitely recommend staying here if you are headed to Savonlinna!

We stayed here with my grilfriend for one night during our roadtrip, and the few rooms, firendly staff and breakfest were all worth a visit. Rooms were made in old fashion with a great sense of style. Location in the old part of Savonlinna is very good, castle is around the corner with late evening restaurants and centre square only 10min walk away.

Highly recommend this place and also early Autumn for a relaxing visit if you're not a big fan of the summer hazzle & crowds during opera season (July) but want to enjoy seeing the castle and lakeside. Also absolutely worth for staying several nights, I noticed that most people came only for 1 night (what a waste) but I could have stayed the whole week. Only thing we didn't realize is to book ahead for afternoon tea, but that is easily corrected since we are definately going back again :)

We stayed in this beautiful family-owned boutique hotel for one night. It was definitely worth every euro! In Finland it's often hard to come by a place where everything is thought through to the last detail and no corners are cut. Not at Saima. We absolutely loved the (yummy) breakfast served to the table, the bathrobes in the room, the way we were catered to our room, the Pimms served at the cafe etc. The location was superb, right by the castle, shops and various (summer) restaurants. And you can start the day with a dip into the lake; the city beach is just a couple of minutes away.

Aivan ihana boutique-hotelli Olavinlinnan kupeessa.
An absolute gem right beside Olavinlinna Castle. Both food and service were excellent, and the Saimaa Suite was comfortable. Breakfast is made to order and served to the table. Do try the afternoon tea. It was absolutely amazing with a variety of teas to choose from and a wide selection of delights.

The loveliest and most welcoming family owned boutique hotel. Restaurant cafe conveniently in the same building. Wonderful location next to the Olavinlinna Castle and plenty of free parking. The rooms are amazing, an old building converted into cozy rooms, each with a different theme. Ideal for couples but also spare bed available for a little one.

More like a hostel than a hotel. Bathroom in the corridor, low quality bed and sheets, reception and all service finishes at 5pm. Breakfast rather basic. Great location. Cozy room but far from good value for money.

We stayed in the castle view room for two nights with my husband and we really enjoyed it! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast and everything else we had in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel was clean and the room well equipped. This place has a lot of character and they have put a lot of attention on details. Thanks a lot, we’ll be back!

Very nice family owned hotel. Very friendly staff. The owners are lovely, the rooms were neat, clean and cozy. The location is beautiful, 3 minute walk from the castle and museum. We had a nice walk next to the lake. Definitely recommend it. You need to plan and book a bit early due to limited room availability. Thank you Johanna and David for the lovely experience.

Nice, small hotel near Saint Olaf's Casttle at the old town of City of Savonlinna. Beatiful room with Casttle view. Excellent breakfast (also dietary restrictions were noticed) and friendly service.
