We stayed one night in Hepokatti in their biggest cottage and it was really nice. The area is beautiful and with a lot of countryside charm. We were the only guests but the owners made a full, delicious, breakfast including baking in the morning. And our daughter loved the small animal feeding tour during morning. Hepokatti has possibilities for playing different games outside so bit older children should also be happy. The only minus is that the toilets and showers are in the main building.
We stayed for a one night in this Bed and Breakfast place in Punkaharju, Finland. Their location was very peaceful and calm. Our room was from Matkalaisen majatalo and it had a good double bed and own bathroom. The room was clean and we had a direct view to their hen flock. Overall, other visitors were mostly families with small kids. We went there as a couple and enjoyed the time anyway. Their speciality was the farm animals and we loved them all. Especially, they had few cats in the area and we got to pet one of them. All really friendly and nice. Their breakfast was good with a traditional sense. Everything seemed home made or local produce, and that was really nice. If you consider a stay as a foreigner, their breakfast gives a good impression of what Finns eat at their breakfast! We booked a sauna hour for us. It was a traditional Finnish sauna, and a very nice cool down area next to it. Though it's located in a central place, there was a good privacy.…
We stayed in the big red cottage for 3 night with family & friends including kids 8-11 of age. Pros: Lovely nature and farm landscape with animals. Nice breakfast with fresh berries and homemade rolls. Perfect for kids as the whole milieu is peaceful yet inviting with lots to do for outdpoor play/sports & wood crafts. Like a warm embrace! Fantastic, helpful staff. The cottage had a dishwasher which was perfect for our party of 7. Cons: The facilities are worn down with an interior from approx. the early 80ies. The place was tidy, but the overall experience is unfinished / broken. Not shabby chic, just shabby. If you want to vacay in style this is not your place. Like most places in Finland the facilities are not meant for hot summers. We were sweating through the night - no air con nor fans.…
We chose to stay a night while on a road trip, and we definitely chose the right place to spend the night! This place was perfect. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cool (surprising seeing as the weather has been so warm). The farm animals are a stone’s throw away from the sleeping quarters and make for a lovely vibe to the area. The whole place is very peaceful and quaint. Breakfast was great - extremely fresh and lots of variety. Lots of local produce available. The staff are very friendly and seem happy to serve. Couldn’t recommend this place more, especially if you have kids (we didn’t, and it was still a lot of fun).
