Let me first state, that in spite of the low rating, the hotel is good. Clean rooms, well equipped, fine bathroom, not noisy. Tried the bar - decent drinks. Breakfast abundant even if of average quality only. BUT: My wife checked in and did not have the reservation number at hand. I was not reachable at the time. That the surname is the same did not impress the receptionist. My wife had to wait for an hour and a half in the lobby, without access to the room. No reservation number, no room. And I was not told when making the reservation that the number was required. Completely brainless treatment of a customer. When she got hold of me and got the number she had to pay even if the hotel already had an imprint of my creditcard. Double stupidity. To the credit of the hotel the manager duly apologized and admitted the mistake. But this is what happens when staff is told to follow stupid rules without thinking.…

Thank you for the feedback Robin E. We discussed this matter at the hotel and you´ve been compensated for the trouble. On a general level, I´d like to remind that we have to follow GDPR rules. It is also our company policy to take a pre-authorisation from a credit or debit card at check-in, even if the reservation is guaranteed for a late arrival with a credit card. A clean hotel and excellent service! At the breakfast buffet our kid with food allergies got a good selection of safe foods when requested. The hotel has a perfect location in Mikkeli city center near the railway station. The room was cool and quiet.

The standard Sokos chain service. No surprises there except route to get to the room... elevator, down the corridor, elevator...down another corridor. Good parking. Great location. I could visit again...as I have. Enough bandwidth to properly stream netflix in the evening (with covid restricted tenant capacity).

SuperiorX rooms are more spacious rooms located at the corner of the building. We were lucky to get the top 5th-floor room and could see both Mikkeli's landmarks: Cathedral and Naisvuori Towers. The room was well equipped. The bathroom was quite small but functional. The air conditioning worked very well in the summer heat. The hotel was fully booked. So the breakfast was busy but quite well organized to be guided to a clean table. The reception staff was very friendly. Our stay had good value for the summer sale price of 125 euros

As I was expecting a normal (neutral) Sokos Hotel experience I was awestruck by Sokos Hotel Mikkeli. Never have I ever experienced the same level of customer service in a Finnish chain hotel as we did on arrival to this one. Well thought through genuinly friendly service at the front desk and all over the hotel. The rooms are of good basic level with some convenient details, well-working air conditioning. Very nice breakfast, centrally located. Free bicycles available.

Good and clean hotel. A little boring breakfast (poor typical Sokos Hotels fresh product selection). Friendly service. The location of the hotel is excellent in the middle of the city. Sauna and jacuzzi are included in the price.

In Sokos hotels you always know what you get. Nothing fancy, no suprises in good or bad. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast didn´t have any wow elements but there was enough everything for everyone. Location is great! There´s parking hall and gym but all this costs you extra.

Been in few hotels past years. So this one is definitly a basic plus experience. You can get your car indoors. Nice rooms. Great service and good breakfast. Nothing too fancy but not average as well so one of the best to stay over in mikkeli

Staying in any chain hotel normally means absolutely no surprises or thrills of any kind. However , having stayed in one of the renewed rooms, I have to say that there were elements which were satisfying. Mainly in toilet in this case but it was refreshing anyway. Not a typical lighting, red towels (when have you ever seen anything else but white ones in chain hotel) and excellent shover cabin. Room itself was immaculate and came with the huge tv and minibar. Breakfast was ok, nothing to brag but ok. Service was very nice during check in and check out.

The parking should be included in hotel price. Also should not place people on business trip or even holidays in a room bothered by exterior noises. There was a very loud bar next door with loud music playing until late hours into the morning. Overall I would not stay in this hotel again. Food is great and customer friendly otherwise.
