Room: We stayed one night in "Superior Family Four" -room. Air-conditioning didn't work (Staff comment: "Too hot summer for the building's air-conditioning capacity"), so the room temperature was +28C. Hotel offered small fan as replacement. There was some small leakage in room's air-conditioning pipes (bucket on the floor) and therefore other room was reorganised (beds moved, sofa moved) causing half of that room was unusable. Without these inconveniences room would have been good standard level hotel room. Breakfast: Basic but Good. Location: Good location in city center. Quite limited parking spaces.
Very basic and dull hotel. The room was clean but uninspiring, as was the service. Fortunately the bed was pretty good and the breakfast okay. The location is pretty good, though: everything is within walking distance.
I stayed on a Scandic (or should I say Cumulus) Joensuu one night. Customer service was friendly and staff were very kind. Negative side, there was a loud renovation going on through out the building. Room was bit dusty and bedlinens felt dirty with dark body hairs in them.
The first and last stay. The best thing was nice bar next to Hotel, Sointula. That i can recommend, otherwise - avoid. Room was on lowest floor and it has seen the best days on 1980’s. No evening restaurant - breakfast was eatable.
The location is good in city centre and the reception staff was very helpful, both when I called the reception before my visit and also during my stay. The rooms are very old, have not been updated since Scandic bought Cumulus. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good, however I was slightly surprised that there were no bigger dinner plates available, only small ones. Selection was good but it was difficult to find everything
