Nice in city center. Previous orthodox center, it seems inside in dining room. We had room 222 and it was pretty cold all nigth long, too heavy air condition without possibilitues to change it. Food was excellent tasty and personal was really helpfull.
Nice hotel, the unusual decor gave it an exotic touch. Our room was small but neat and quiet. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. The hotel has no elevator (three floors) but I can definitely recommend it. Short walk to the city center, free parking.
Good location with walking distance to almost everywhere else in city of Iisalmi. Reasonably priced comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff and decent breakfast. Unique stylish design inside. Highly recommended.
The hotel is located in the very center of Iisalmi, but they offer you free parking on their courtyard. The hotel has very nice furnishing and especially the main hall of the hotel is very unique, nothing you usually see in Finnish chain hotels. Our superior room was spacious and easily enough for a small family with two small kids. Breakfast was excellent with fresh baking, fresh berries and so. I really appreciate nice breakfast and in this hotel you have one! Dinner options were nice, too, with a selection for kids included. Staff was genuinely friendly... And all this with very reasonable price, so this hotel is of great value!
A surprising mysterious boutique-hotel in the ’middle of nowhere’ in Iisalmi, Estern Finland. The decor is Italian marbour mixed with Russian Orthodox Church. Look at the pics! We had a room with a sauna and that was luxyry. Good service, Very nice rooms and a central, yet quiet, location. I strongly recommend staying a night at this hotel if you are in the neighbourhood.
A great place to stay in the town centre, walking distance everywhere. Also free parking just outside. Being a former Orthodox culture centre, the hotel is unique in terms of interior design with stained glass windows and frescos on the dining room walls. We stayed for one night in a room on the second floor. The room was quite small for two persons, but it was clean and the beds were good. There is no AC, but we could open the window for fresh air. The rooms on this floor are the original size, we were told. Other parts of the hotel have been refurbished. Hotel staff are very attentive and nice. You can see that they like their job! Breakfast was excellent, fresh food, brewed tea and delicious Carelian pasties! Will definitely stay there again, if we ever come back to Iisalmi. Maybe in another type of room, though. 😀…
This property is really a unique hotel. It is a walking distance from the railway station, provides really good rooms, excellent dining with excellent meals, newly-renovated sauna ja an unique restaurant room. Just perfect for a business person visiting Iisalmi. I recommend!
We had a short stay in this nice hotel with beautiful breakfast room. Place was clean and staff friendly. At breakfast there was delicious home-baked bread and brewed tea. Parking was just outside the front door. I warmly recommend.
Great breakfast in the most unique dining room we've seen. It was like a chapel with stained glass windows Lots of Orthodox art. The accommodation we had was very basic. Could have used a reading lamp at the head of each bed. The climb of 40 steps was a bit much but we knew that when booking. It is the downstairs that is so special.
This property has serves previously as a center for Orthodox heritage but after bankcrupt and considerable renovation has found a new life as a hotel. You can still find the signs of the past e.g. on the religious paintings of dining room. We had a bit more expensive room with sauna for one night. It was clean and spacious enough for two persons. It was located near the city center, just a couple hundred meters from cc. Breakfast was rich and tasty. Again, a nice exception compared with normal chain hotels that characterize Finnish hotel scene. I recommend!
