The hotel is fine to visit for a drink or a few hours party in the lobby. But not worth the money when staying over. The spa is only accessable when paying extra, the free pool is a joke, no sauna, a small unisex corner to change with ONE shower. A clear dissapointment to us. We also had to walk...

In the smack of the town, next to the railway station lies this hotel in all its glory. Stayed for 2 nights (on business), excellent hotel for business and pleasure. Extremely handsome buffet breakfast. Cool interior elements. Have it a try, won't ya?!

I have been here only once, after I heard many times about it. I would say the rooms are big and comfortable like many other hotels at the same level. What I particularly like is the the bar and restaurants in the hotel (it seems to be always crowded, so if you really want to get there book a table,...

We stayed at the glamorous Clarion for three nights, our junior suite was spacious enough for four. The room was really clean and the heated bathroom floor was so nice. Our bed was so comfortable - probably the most comfortable bed we've ever had! However, our stay was over a weekend, and even though we were on the fourth floor,...

Really nice and cozy hotel. The Christmas look is amazing. Nice service and clean rooms, some rooms have few tight corners due to architecture though. Modern hotel with old Post office feel to it, but that does not mean old post office service.

The check in time is only after 3pm but there's plenty to do in Gothenburg, especially around this hotel, which is in a prime location. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast is delightful. The staff are friendly and there's a nice jacuzzi / pool on the roof, offering great views over the city. Highly recommended.

Our first room here in the old part of hotel overlooking canal was not satisfactory so we moved to the newer part of the hotel and the room was much better. We ate out but the bar and restaurant looked great from a design point of view. Breakfast was hectic the next morning, huge crowds, but it was really good...

Third time here and always so tiny rooms even if you book superior. Although nice rooms. Bathroom that do not fit two people at the same time and shower door that blocks door to to bathroom. TV broken and staff not that eager to fix but they promised to deduct the parking fee as compensation. However I had to suggest...

The Clarion Post hotel is a fine hotel. It was extremely busy during my stay, but the hotel was staffed appropriately. My room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The location is excellent. The breakfast buffet is the best I've ever seen. It was magnificent. I wish that I hadn't had such an early train to catch so...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The post office on Drottningtorget in Gothenburg is an impressive, much-appreciated public building. Designed by Ernst Torulf, it is a typical 1920s building in neo-classical style and has been designated an historical building by the Swedish State. The building is now to be developed into an efficient, modern hotel facility suited to contemporary requirements for logistics and functionality.A new building containing 500 hotel rooms with a rooftop sun terrace and pool overlooking Gothenburg is to be constructed next to the old post office, on the site of the old loading yard that faces Akareplatsen and Odinsgatan. Half of the facade will be covered with slate and the other half with copper - the same materials used in the original post office building. The facade and terrace facing Drottningtorget will feature an open design, thus forming a welcoming entrance for the new hotel. From the entrance, it will also be possible to walk through the hotel out onto Akareplatsen and then on to Odinsgatan. The remaining parts of the terrace will be retained and used as an outdoor service area during the summer months. ... more   less
