Nice hotel with good hospitality at front desk. Breakfast is extensive and always replenished. Beds are good, bathroom comfy. The rooms are a bit dark since walls and ceiling have a dark colour. Location is good and quite close to ferries to downtown Göteborg. Area is still under construction. Local restaurants are mostly focussed on lunch (and closed in the evening) since this is a business area. Lindholmen foodmarket is closed in the summer so we really missed that experience (which is around the corner). Nice surprise was the rooftop bar that serves decent “bites” for the evening with a great view.

Upon check in, without knowing much about the property , we were happily surprised of how nice of a hotel it is. I picked this hotel based on traveling to Goteborg to see Coldplay. It's modern, clean, upscale and everything about the hotel was perfect. The breakfast, view from our room, the restaurant FEI , and the rooftop bar make us definitely want to return to this beautiful city/ hotel The hotel itself is a short taxi ride, or short boat trip to the city center. We found this to be a huge positive as you're far away enough from city noise. Coldplay at Ullevi stadium made for a trip of lifetime ( AOAL :), and the Clarion Hotel set the stage for a amazing visit to the west coast of Sweden !!

I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel was. Everything from the elevators to the room, was spotless. The staff was there for any question that I had, since this was my first time in Europe. We booked a deluxe double and they upgraded us to a studio apartment! The breakfast had something for everyone, including fresh cut up fruit. Everything was prepared in real time with the chef taking care of it all. If I got the opportunity to go back to Gothensburg I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel! So modern with very spacious rooms. Great rooftop bar, nice breakfast, very helpful staff. We felt this was a good value option for Sweden. It’s very easy to reach the town centre via a bus stop a few minutes away.

The hotel has some drawbacks that some visitors might find decisive. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is acceptably furnished and has good (not great) amenities. Good pillows and mattresses. As drawbacks though, cleanliness is not good. We stayed there a week and they never dusted the room. The dust was there when we arrived and was never wiped off. Some leftover food from previous guests was there as well. The hotel is quite far from the city center: 40 minutes walking or take the public transport (within 5 minutes walking distance). But public transport is not cheap in Göteborg ;-). Also, the hotel was expensive and value wise, you don’t get what you paid for.

Beautiful hotel which we booked for our wedding night! We had a gorgeous room with an amazing view. But the whole experience was ruined by breakfast. There was too many people for such a small area. Maybe have booked times for breakfast, have staff to give you a table. Separate warm and cold food, you couldn't see what you were queueing for. Maybe have the possibility of takeaway breakfast to reduce the queue. It was really disappointing to leave the hotel hungry when everything else was so good.

We had a very comfortable 3 night stay for our family of 3 in a Studio apartment room. (The room was a little tight with 3 of us but for 3 nights it was fine. Next size up room was fully booked at the time of our stay). Pros: New hotel. The staff at checkin were really friendly and helpful, especially Sophia, she was lovely. I celebrated my birthday the day we arrived and when we got to our room there were bags of candy treats and a sweet birthday note waiting for me, such a nice touch. Our bed was extremely comfortable with nice linens. The sofa bed for our daughter was also spacious and comfortable. Towels are big and fluffy and as the hotel is less than a year old the rooms & bathrooms are in great, as new condition. Breakfast buffet was excellent and was replenished often throughout the service. Easy & quick commute across the river via public bus to the city centre (bus stop is a 4 min walk from hotel). Free parking in the hotel basement carpark. Cons: Our room door would not lock with the extra internal lock (it didn't meet up correctly with the door jam lock space). We notified the check in desk but this wasn't fixed throughout our stay. No phones in the rooms so you need to use the app via the TV to send messages to the front desk etc. This was far to time consuming for something that would take normally take no longer than a minute if there was a room phone. There isn't much else within close vicinity of the hotel but this wasn't a problem for us. Would definitely stay here again if we were visiting Gothenburg in the future.Show less…

Worst hotel experience ever. No AC, never have I stayed in a por tower without ac, the front desk is the worst, and on top of that there are no phones on the room, I called endlessly from my cell phone no pone picked up. Had to go downstairs for someone to check on my ac, just to find out they don’t have AC. What decent hotel doesn’t have an ac???

Hi Robert! I am sorry to hear about your stay with us. We have got AC in all of our hotel rooms though and it is adjustable via the pad on the wall when you come into the room. There is an option to adjust the temperature and AC accordingly. We did experience a few issues with the temperature in our rooms when we first opened, so I sincerely apologise if there were also problems while you were staying with us at the hotel. This clarion was a lovely hotel with nice bed, fantastic shower and a great breakfast however it has a few issues. There is no safe in the room and no phone so we couldn’t phone to ask about it and to go back down 7 floors was a trek. We arrived for 4 nights midsommer week but it seemed the hotel was not taking customers staying into account. The bar did not open until 4pm and closed at 9.30 the day we arrived. In fact of the 4 nights we never seen the bar at the front of the hotel open. The hotel is near the centre of Gothenburg but not near enough to walk, 10 minutes on the bus which is fantastic but not at night if you want a drink. The restaurant was closed for 2 days for midsommer and the hotel did not offer guests alternative food services when we inquired. However when we returned one of the night people were eating in the restaurant and when we asked the staff said it was private event. The hotel is clearly new, modern, lovely and clean and the one drink we had on the rooftop bar we really enjoyed. The lighting in the room is terrible so maybe a lighted shaving mirror would help. We like the hotel but not sure I’d stay again with the opening hours of the bar and restaurant not clear and no food alternatives near by.…

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for your very honest and constructive feedback of your stay with us. We really appreciate it and it helps us so much. We have available safes in our luggage room in the lobby which can be used in order to store items, but I do apologize that you were not given this information during your stay with us. With regards to the bar in our lobby, it is indeed closed until early September due to our summer timetable which we have in place at the moment. This is detailed on our website however I do apologise for the inconvenience. When our restaurants are closed, we do offer a selection of cold foods from our reception fridge. I appreciate this isn't ideal but is an option which we have. I can certainly pass on your feedback about the lighting in the rooms and we can look to make improvements to that. We hope you will give us another chance in the future as we would love to welcome you back to our hotel.

I had a bit hard time finding the hotel, although it is brand new. The area has few modern buildings and still some industrial buildings (which are very charming), but nearby there is not much in terms of restaurants or amenities as it looks. The hotel is quite welcoming and have a quite big reception. On the left when coming in there is the restaurant and breakfast area. The breakfast was quite standard but nice alltogether - I sadly not had the opportunity to dig into the different dishes, but all looked very well prepared and tasty. I did have dinner at the restaurant and it was very classy, especially the price which was a bit high. The standard was quite ok, but I took a fish soup and well, for how ok it was it didn't justify the high price. The room was very nice. I enjoyed it. I had a view over the water and the old building, the bed was sturdy and comfortable. It is obvious that the building is quite new as I couldn't see any major signs of it being torn in any way. The bathroom was also very nice and I appreciated that different dispenser for all products. I think the way the room was furnitured and decorated was making it comfortable and didn't make it feel too crazy-modern and neither unpractical. The only two things that I got disappointed was that, as mentioned above, it didn't seem that there were many possibilities to eat something just outside the hotel. I should have walked a bit, but I was eating a bit late and most of places in the area seemed closed. The other was that when I checked in I did ask to get my points registered, but sadly that didn't work out and I had to write few times to make that happen. I will try the hotel again so I hope I won't be disappointed again and I will confirm the positive aspects of this brand new, very comfy and elegant hotel!…
