Tops: The location was excellent. Rooms quite small but well put together. Breakfast was correct. Staff members very nice. Old vibe in an old building but well remade and modern to stay. Lows: The elevator is quite slow and small due to being an old building. But it's really okey. In general was a very nice stay.
4 nights stay during easter holiday 2022 and we could not have been more satisfied. Pleasant stay, service tip top and surprisingly good breakfast option. The hotel lies in the center of Göteborg, Vasastaden and it is reachable to everywhere. Public transport is accesable within minutes of walk. Room was great, unfortunately we could not control the room temperature. Sometimes it wiil get cold but it was manageable. We will be coming again. Theviya and Ajan
Very well located to explore the city and close to restaurants, bars, etc. Nice and cozy building, very nice staff, room as advertised, good breakfast. To say something, maybe it would be nice to have a kettle in the room, but there is free coffee and tea at reception 24/7
As previous reviewers have commented, this is a lovely quiet hotel within easy walking distance of the main areas of Gothenburg. Public transport is excellent but does require the downloading of a ticket app for trams and trains. Staff had fluent english and were happy to assist with maps, travel locations etc. Other than breakfast, which was substantial, no other meals on offer but with so many good restaurants within a couple of minutes this wasn't a problem. 24hr access to tea, coffee or other drinks. The bed was very comfortable and as mentioned, the soundproofing excellent. All in all, a real treat for a 3 star hotel.
Perfect location if you want central but still quiet nights. Trams right nearby, and pubs and restaurants on the block. Good breakfast as always in Sweden. Room was rather small, beds a bit to soft for us. And we came on a heatwave and the room was very hot. Windows fully open all night and the fan in the window made it bearable... Staff was very nice and you could feel that its a family business. So a good stay with some issues!
This hotel is well situated, just outside downtown Göteborg, in a neighbourhood that is quite OK. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and the price for a room is quite reasonable. Don't forget that if you arrive by car, you will have to use the expensive public parking places in front of the hotel : about 20 EUR / night, but this is compensated by the relatively low room price. The wooden floor in the room was a clear plus, the lack of hygiene in the bathroom was a clear minus, but I am ready to think this was a one-time mistake. I hope it was.
So after a more expensive hotel but with noisy rooms I decided to move,,, oh so happy! Hotel nicely renovated in a classical style inkeeping with the building Rooms- modern ,well thought out , liked the wood features, have what you need, soft closed doors so brilliant sleep conditions Friendly staff, breakfast good Tea- coffee 24/7 in reception area. Loved the place would certain stay again- great location for Haga and museum of art, shops, bars ect
The hotel Poseidon is in a great location, about 5 minute walk from the airport bus stop, 10-15 minute walk to Liseberg and everything else is in walkable distance too. We didn’t feel the need to use public transport at all. The hotel itself is in a lovey old building with helpful and friendly staff. We got there a few hours too early for check in and the reception helped us out by storing our luggage for a few hours so we could go out and come back without all of our luggage! The room itself was lovely! I have stayed in far less pleasant, higher star rated hotels! This room seemed extremely more premium than I was expecting! The breakfast was a really nice spread (buffet style), pretty much everything you might want and served until 10am - which as a non early riser was great! :) I really appreciated the fact that they had non dairy items too! The only two down sides I can think of for this hotel - the beds! At first they seemed comfortable, but oh how I had a back ache really quickly! If you are used to an extremely firm mattress then you won’t have any problems. It seemed like only a mattress topper on a base. The second downside was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - it would have been great. There is tea and coffee in reception that you can help yourself to. However, only earl grey, and fruit and no standard black tea. Overall though, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. I feel it’s amazing value for money for the comfort and service you get!…
A reasonably central hotel, with large comfortable bedrooms, spotlessly clean. We particularly valued the always-available coffee and hot drinks in the foyer. Breakfast downstairs was really enjoyable. Not a lot of hot food choices, but that's fine as i don't tend to eat those. A great range of fresh fruit and breads. Good coffee. It's not the hotel's fault but there are two things that would have helped our stay: Firstly, there's no bar or comfortable sitting area downstairs. There is a fridge of beers/drinks/wine etc which we took advantage of. But nowhere really to sit and enjoy them apart from our rooms. (To be fair, there were two sofas in the reception area, but it was all a bit tight) Secondly, there's no hotel parking. We did expect this, as it is a city-centre hotel, and yet it would have made our life easier for a 3-day stay.…
I have stayed at this hotel several times the last 10-15 years. From day one I have always felt welcome upon arrival . During the last year they have really put in some effort to upgrade and renovate the rooms. I was lucky at my last stay to have one of the new renovated rooms and it was really, really nice. As always, the personell are one of a kind
