The surroundings are quite nice, but the location is not exactly central so there are not many places for eating that are within distance (and that are affordable) (not at least, if I would be near the central station!)
When checking in, I got a concierge that was quite talkative, but pleasant. However, it was midnight and maybe it was a bit late for the chit chat.
The hotel interior seems a bit outdated, I got the feeling to be in a place where time has stood still since the 80s. Nice though the connection with the fort remains both in terms of miniature available to admire, but also to see it just almost integrated in the hotel building.
Nice also with the historical traces of the brewery where the hotel has been placed. Let's say that the hotel has a great history!
My room was sadly having incredibly tiny windows that one could barely open, towards the rocks.
The room decor was simple but functional. The room quite big with a decent desk, seating place and a good bed. Also the toilet was spacious.
Everything was tidy.
Breakfast was quite standard, with a good choice of all the things one usually want at breakfast. One could eat on a suspended veranda with a view over the bridge and the älv. In a sunny day it must be fantastic.
I think the position of the hotel was quite convenient for work purposes, so I wouldn't mind trying it again and check if I find some more interesting places to eat dinner or more of what the hotel can offer to its guests!
Always something unexpected or extra for breakfast (only a small minus for lack of coffee selections). Staff exceptionally nice (a special recognition of Fedor at the reception who showed our kid the popcorn machine).
A small but ok sauna/jacuzzi (steamer not working during our stay).
This hotels also provides charging for electric vehicles at a cost. Parking is 80SEK/night.
The hotel is situated in an intereting partnof Göteborg with walking distance to ferry and tram.
Nice for families.
Inured walk to the tram. The water and bridge views from the hotel are amazing. From the hotel you can walk along the water for miles. It’s a very pleasant neighborhood. During the weekend the nearby restaurants on the water have live music and reasonably priced bar food and drinks. The hotel restaurant is surprisingly good for breakfast (big range) and dinner. Later at night it is the only option and a good one too. The staff are friendly and helpful. Feels like a nice culture. The rooms are a bit tired but overall I would still give it 5 stars as the location is great and the service is excellent. It is also reasonably priced.
After I finally checked in at 15:00, I found out that my room wasn't really clean. I mean the toilet was obviously used previously and wasn't cleaned afterward. So I went to the reception and they changed the room for me.
Apart from this incident, I had a really nice experience there.
It was around Christmas time, and they served glöögi and ginger cookies in the lobby every evening.
The room was warm and cozy. Bed soft and comfortable.
Personal is very friendly.
Breakfast is delicious with a wide range of options.
The sauna has an additional fare though.
The hotel is in a historic building with a spectacular view of the riverside. It is a glorious place, I could say.
Room was quite old but clean. Bed was confy eventhough the bedding was bit rough.
There was only combined hair&body wash available, no conditioner or bodylotion.
When looking out the window in the morning, I was happy that I only spent one night in the room..
Breakfast & lunch at the hotel restaurant were both really good.
Otherwise, the bed and bath were good and we had an enjoyable stay. We also had a nice view toward the river and the bridge. Breakfast was good except for the cold scrambled eggs.
Nice staff
Nice food
Nice view
I will definitely come back for a visit .
I think the hotel is very old but still nice .
Nothing to compare with the new hotels. There is parking outside and 80 sek per day
