The Sheraton Stockholm Hotel garners mixed reviews, with its central location being a highlight for guests, offering easy access to the central station and local attractions. While the cleanliness and some amenities like the breakfast are praised, opinions on value are less favorable, with guests citing extra costs and outdated facilities. Travelers appreciate the views from the rooms, though many find the rooms themselves in need of an update. Service quality varies, with both commendable and disappointing encounters reported. Noise from nearby construction has also been a notable concern.

Stayed in a suite for 3 nights and were given lounge access.
Room was clean and average size for a suite with additional living room/ sitting area. Free drinking/ purified water was given in a glass bottle but will cost 25sek if removed from the room.
The decor of the room was dated and we had difficulty closing the door of the wardrobe as the sliding mechanism of the wooden door seem stuck making it tedious to slide and we left it open.
Our coffee/tea were not replenished on the last night.
There was also no additional birthday treat even though it was a birthday stay and we are platinum elite member. The other hotels in the Marriott/ Shangrila chain had noted and also prepared a birthday cake. Not a must but good to have.
Location was good and it was around a 5min walk to the old town and the shopping area.
Lounge was dated and during our stay there were two hot food in the evening, with two cold/ salad dishes and other small sweets. Think the spread is smaller than the other hotel chains.
Breakfast spread was average but excellent service at the dining area area with the staff clearing the table and replenishing coffee quickly.
Also another highly commendable thing was the Housekeeping/ room service as the the requests were attended too promptly after our call.

I am quite upset having to write this review as prior to my stay I had such high expectations of the Sheraton as a brand.
I understand and believe me ai have factored into this review COVID 19!
Prior to arrival I was considering staying at the Radisson Strand, but it’s been a dream to stay at the Sheraton for over 36 years but never had the opportunity to for one reason or the other where ever I was in the world, either too far or over priced.
Anyway I am a Gold member with Marriot so why not this time!
Got the app it says checkin online, oh on the day it says I have to go to reception, no problem, as a gold member I doubt I was going to get that upgrade online anyway.
The wife and I head to reception where we are welcomed by staff all nice and polite, I am informed that I have been given an upgrade to a ‘premier room’. I’m thinking great can’t wait it’s on the 8th (top floor) too.
We get to the room walk in and I am disappointed from the moment I step in.
I am wondering if this is an upgrade and a premier room what did the standard room look like.
Well we have a balcony, my wife walks out and then I do, but I am covered in cobwebs.
I figure I am 6:4 no worries it might have been a while since someone as tall as me has walked out on the balcony, things are slow due to COVID, but as we walk back through the door as it’s a partial view of the river and the bridge below, not all that stunning, I notice the cobwebs are not on the outside the spiders are on the inside and to top it off there are flys swarming around the room.
Wife’s prepared to put up with this, but I am annoyed because I wrote ahead to say that this was our first year anniversary and asked for extra pillows and some other extras that you could tick off in the Marriot app.
I head for reception apologies all around and sent to the 5th floor, 501 to be precise. This is a suit, unfortunately it was a let down from opening the door the smell from the pipes was over bearing. Now I know that in Sweden if the drains are dry they will smell. It’s just a fact!
You would expect the hotel management to know these things and make sure all taps and drains are fully tested.
By this time I realise the Sheraton in Sweden is just not for us, so no use asking to be changed just make a mental note not to book again, not even for free.
Putting furniture in a room does not make it plush or luxurious and that’s how it felt, thank God it was just the night (as the kids had their first party unattended) got out the cologne and sprayed the room it helped a bit just a bit, had the tape running and that did a little as well.
As I am tall I could see into the light shade above the table and a good old dusting would not go amiss.
On the whole I have stayed at better 3 star hotels and a standard room at Radisson just across the street would have been a better choice.
The staff was lovely though and did the best they could but I believe this hotel has lost its appeal to me. It’s a shame as the Sheraton is under the Marriot brand, and there hotels are usually fantastic.

Loved the location. A very short walk to the heart of Stockholm, just around the corner from the Central Station, and across the bridge and your in Old Town.
Check in was easy and what you would expect of a Sheraton Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We were offered to purchase breakfast at a cheaper rate at check in, which we did. This was nice and convenient BUT with all the lovely cafes in Stockholm and the close proximity to the hotel I would probably suggest trying the local cuisine. In saying this, the breakfast and staff were awesome and you have everything you need without leaving your hotel.
There is a bar in the lobby.
The room had a huge, comfortable California King bed. The bathroom had a combined bath/shower.
They supplied basic toiletries & a shower cap but no toothbrush.
There was a fridge in the room.
BE AWARE OF TAXIS - negotiate a price BEFORE you get in. Don’t presume because they have a meter they are fine. Our hotel advised us to use the Taxi Stockholm. We used this as a transfer from the hotel to the airport at a cost of 575 sek. You could catch the train but it was 250 SEK pp, so not much difference.
On arrival at Arlanda i noticed taxi Kurir had a price from 535 sek - not sure what they are like.
We used the tram #7 to get to most attractions in Stockholm as we had a small child, however you could easily walk as most attractions are 15-20 mins max from the hotel. Although the temp was 6 degrees the wind was freezing, so the tram was a great idea.

Let's start with the positive things: 3 minutes walk from Arlanda Express/Main Central Station, few steps from main shopping streets, another few steps away from old town (Gamlan Stan) & all sights. No need for a public transport ticket, everything is super easy accessible by walk. The staff is fabolous! Great service & recommendations by Concierge Drita, fast & personalized check-in by Tintin! Well done ladies! However, the hotel itself: especially the room, coridors, restaurant & the variety of food at breakfast desperately needs maintenance & an update. Weird smell in the floor up to the room, furniture in the room shows signs of wear & is also not to other Sheraton standards. Dust is easily shown on the black surface of the interior, also the bathroom with its short glaswall (not covering all the water in the tub) is behind with its design. Breakfast would require a new set up: not enough space to walk through, coffee machines placed next to tables, so you constantly get interrupted by noise or guests bumping against your table. For a Sheraton I would have expected more variety in terms of ham, fruits & cereals -all fresh!! Too much convenience food such as fruits. Also the staff seemed a little bit lost in cleaning the tables & placing guests on free tables. Ive stayed at a few Sheratons already, but this one is definitely far behind & looking at all the other dynamic competitors around them, it could be a threat not to invest in the building.

Dear Guest, Thank you for describing your feelings and experiences during your visit. It is important for us to take part of both pros and cons and as always; without your feedback we can never improve. We will keep your comments and suggestions about the room in mind for the future, and the feedback regarding the breakfast items and the set up are now with our Head Chef. This hotel looked quite promising from looking at the lobby, which had quite a nice looking Christmas tree when we were there. Even though we checked in quite late, we still had to wait quite a bit due to some Emirates crew checking in.

When we arrived at our rooms, it looked comfortable and big. However, it looked tired and in need of a renovation. The room was a bit dim for this day and age which I think should be changed when they do decide to renovate. Though, they gave us chocolates due to recently achieving gold status. Even though it was small, we appreciated the gesture.

Something I find interesting is that this hotel seemed to be extremely outdated in terms of branding: old Sheraton logos & SPG signage. Even though it didn't really bother anyone, it showed how outdated the hotel is when small things like that aren't updated.

The location of the hotel is quite central in Stockholm, with the central station being minutes away and most of Stockholm was within walking distance, which we found to be helpful. The breakfast was quite good, had friendly staff & decent selections. However, they simply cannot make a good omelet; it is always soggy.

Overall, this hotel is quite good. However, they need to update some things to make the experience even better for guests. For the location & convenience, this hotel is worth looking at.

Just got back from a 3 night stay in Stockholm at Sheraton Hotel. Great location, only a few minutes from Central Station which we used to get the express train to and from ARN airport. It is also a short walk across to the Gamla Stan (old town) for day time attractions plus restaurants and bars. Also few minutes walk to main shopping high street.

The hotel itself is very pleasant not sure it quite meets the 5 star that I have come to expect from the Sheraton’s I have visited elsewhere. It missed the little touches like a turn down service, complimentary fruit or chocolates on arrival. Although not a dampener on our stay would have made this hotel a little extra special and well deserving of its 5 star rating. The cleaning service was a little remiss but again didn’t spoil our stay. We stayed in a superior guest room which had a wet room, on first look you think great as the shower head was big however the position of it is such that you are up against the wall to ensure you are under the shower, poorly designed! We didn’t have the breakfast included in our room package which wasn’t a problem as there are a lot of breakfast options close by and cheaper than the hotel rate. Plus there is a nice Espresso House attached to the hotel from which we would purchase a take away coffee in the morning on the way to our sight seeing.

We arrived early after a gruelling early morning flight (and one piece of luggage missing) and the attentive staff were able to give us one of our two rooms immediately, which was very helpful. The hotel is right next to the train station where the airport shuttle train ends so transfer is a piece of cake. The rooms are of standard Sheraton quality and finishings and we had a nice view of the harbor and Gamlastan. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Only one staff member doing all the cooking (omelettes, fried eggs) so always a queu if you want fresh eggs. And the choices in other foods were rather limited. As said, the location is great as everything is close by. We rented electric scooters (there are plenty available, install the app and off you go) and then it is even easier to get to the interesting parts. The gym is large and has plenty of cardio equipment and weights but you should take your own towel and water as Covid rules prevent the hotel from providing that in the gym. Also no area to do floor exercises or matts for that matter. All in all a pleasant stay.

We are Marriott platinum member. We have tried almost all the 5 star hotels in Stockholm with different brands and chains during this summer. Looking forward to finally check in to Sheraton for our staycation.

Please be warned that breakfast is very likely to be a big let down. All hotels during the pandemic are doing some sort of altered solutions. But Sheraton’s breakfast offering, in terms of the range and quality of product only, is definitely and obviously by far the worst amongst all five stars in Stockholm. Even some of their lower standard hotels (eg AC marriot) provides much better breakfast. Oh, one big surprise in this hotel, is that if you want to have omelet, you need to pay an extra 75 SEK (7.5 euro) on top of your included breakfast. Never heard any 5 star hotels charge extra for an omelette! Don’t think this is an acceptable standard for any 5 star.

We also checked In with a room with very dirty bedsheet but duty manger immediately changed us to another better room and cleaned things up herself( shout out to Carolina, well done!) but the hardware of most rooms are anyways dated and with no trace of luxury. No cromecast built in, they don’t even bother to provide bath salt after being requested up front.

We actually had booked a return stay for the weekend after, before our arrival of our first stay. Given the dissatisfaction of our first day, we communicated with management if the breakfast standard will remain the same or improved, I.e still charging extra for omelette or not at least. The management answer was a definite refusal for any improvement on breakfast offerings. So we also have cancelled our return stay. Because that breakfast is definitely NOT something we would like to wake up for.

Overall, we think Sharaton in Stockholm has relaxed their standard big time. It is only worth a 3 star experience. So if you look for a good five star experience, I recommend hotel at six, bank or Lydmar. Avoid this one before they raise their standard again. Even quite a few 3/4 star is better like clarions and AC marriot.

Responded 16 Sept 2020
Dear LiZ1252 ni hao, Greetings and thank you for having stayed with us in these unusual and uncertain times. Thank you for colorful review on TripAdvisor with photos. As the General Manager, I was disappointing and embarrassed to learn about your stay, especially since you are our valued Titanium Elite member. Unfortunately, I can but only apologize now for the experience. Given the facts, I would believe that we somewhat made up for the experiences you have encountered by offering all you asked for during the stay, upgrade to our best Suite and an elaborate breakfast. So, in all fairness, I do only partly agree with your review. If we were as horrible as you described, we would not have rectified it during the stay. I find it very pitiful and it deeply saddens me. I was grateful for sharing photos and feedback in order to take preventive actions. Since almost a decade we are an upper upscale hotel and do not carry the 5-star rating anymore. At this stage we have a compromised products & service, due to covid mainly, and reduced our pricing on our breakfast significantly as well as our room rates. However, as I have written to you personally as well, there is no excuse for bad service, conditions or cleanliness. We offer a full buffet during weekdays, and a continental tray (not the one on your photo) and a warm buffet on the weekend with 3 egg choices, pancakes, baked beans, bacon and prinskorv. Most of our guests are very happy with it. Since we re-opened, we have changed breakfast about five times and every time for the better, while keeping social distancing and a safe environment as the utmost priority. Thank you again for your feedback. We wish you safe travels and stay safe. Kind Regards,

Such kind and professional service. Sheraton Stockholm Hotel did everything right in providing us with corona-safe venue, so that we could celebrate our friend/mother to be.
Hand sanitizer provided by entrance, good space between tables, spacious venue so we didn’t feel cramped and of course delicious food!
Everyone was more than happy! :) :)

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Stockholm. The room was very clean with a very nice view of City Hall and the water. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The location of the hotel was very convenient to the main train station which made arriving from the airport very simple. The hotel was also a very short walk to the Old City, City Hall and other classic sights of the city. We'd definitely stay at this facility again.
