My company always book us in at Hellsten or Rex as they are close to our office, so I have stayed a couple of times at Hellsten and tried different rooms. Generally, the value is very good. Staff is always very helpful and service minded - like when I asked for cutlery once, the receptionists just ran off and got...

The hotel was very nice. We came in early, but it was no problem checking in and getting our room early. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good, altough it wasn´t always easy to get a table in the breakfastroom. The room and bathroom were clean. The beds are very soft, so if you have backproblems you...

We selected this hotel based on TripAdvisor photos and reviewers' comments. We arrived June 2, 2013, and were greatly disappointed in the hotel. The lobby and the rest of the hotel seemed like a hostel. The hotel is a maze or corridors. I felt that a fire would be deadly to guests not familiar with the layout. Our room was...

Our stay at Hotel Hellsten was disappointing. My husband took me to Stockholm for a birthday trip. The city is great, but this hotel is mediocre. Key points: Hotel – Overall the hotel has a nice comfortable feeling. The sitting room, lobby and breakfast room are well decorated, have interesting design features and are very cosy. The breakfast at the...

I booked the hotel on Hotwire and got a good rate, compared to other hotels, so I guess that's good. The staff is friendly and very helpful, breakfast is good, the location is not to bad, (approx. 15 mins walk to the Royal Palace and downtown). The hotel is in a quiet street. I do however think that this is...

I had a single room which was clean and had a nice shower but it was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was quiet and faced the back of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was tasty with lots of options (waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, lots of breads with cheese, jams, meats as well as cereals)....

The Hellsten is an old hotel in central Stockholm. We found a clean room with a fairly small but modern bathroom. The “tunnelbahn” subway is just a short walk away. A trip to “Gamla Stan” old town takes about 10 minutes. You will find traditional Swedish, American, European and Asian restaurants as well as some supermarkets and bars in walking...

Nice hotel. Cute, cozy rooms. Very clean. Breakfast was just ok, not many options. Metro was located just a block or two away to get to the main attractions. Very safe area as a solo traveler I felt completely comfortable at all times. Friendly staff. Very good value for the money.

Get one of the big rooms with the old corner chimney stoves. Totally expensive but worth it - big bed, interesting furniture, huge windows... Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
