"Treated like Royalty" is so appropos to describe our stay at the Rex Hotel. For three women travelling the city together for the first time, the hotel staff made us feel right at home. Receptionists never tired of our endless questions about metro travel, museums, and schedules. They looked on the internet to give us the most up to date...

Great location near metro stop and university with lots of inexpensive but charming neighborhood pubs, cafes and sushi restaurants. Small but clean rooms with modern baths. Quaint courtyard between two buildings. Excellent free breakfast including soft or hard-boiled eggs. Free coffee in lobby all day. Courteous helpful staff. Free Wi-Fi in rooms and computer available in lobby. Bar and spa...

Stayed at the Rex during a business trip to Stockholm. The rooms were tiny, even by European hotel standards. There were no ameneties or conveniences expected of a business hotel. The service was passive at best, and non-existent most of the stay. If I were a 20 year old backpacking through Europe and needed a casual hostel to stay I...

OK...here is the real scoop!! This is a nice "boutique type" hotel a little north of the downtown area...about a 25 minute walk to Gamla Stan..the subway stop is ONE block away..easy to use and never waited more than 2 minutes for a train!! Small lobby, but it is fine..one computer to use for free, but it was usually occupied....

This is a no nonesense practical city hotel in an older building in central Stockholm. We spent 3 nights here and found it perfectly adequate and pleasant. Yes the rooms are small, but if you are visiting a city like Stockholm you aren't going to spend long in your hotel room, and as a base for sightseeing it is a...

While the rooms are small, the decor is new and the bathrooms are sleek and modern (nice touch to have a black tiled bathroom). It is extremely convenient - lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, the subway station is just a block away. Complimentary coffee, tea and water provided in the hotel lounge. Staff are pleasant and efficient. A good...

Amazing hotel. Location is so central, walking distance to city centre. Train station just a block away. The hotel itself is so nice, modern and chic. The room were fantastic, and most of all the bed was so comfortable!!! The bathroom was so beautiful,, just stunning. For the value it was more than what we expected. The breakfast was perfect,...

The location of the Hotel is very close to Centralen and along the green metro line, which tourits probably use the most. The hotel has a very modern and nice atmosphere with brick walls, leather sofas and lots of plants. The lobby is cosy and staff is more than helpful. Rooms a small but nice, clean and efficiently furnished. Breakfast offers...

What a great find! Lovely boutique hotel - nice decor - fantastic photos on the walls, well kept. Very pleasant staff who were more than happy to help and recommend restaurants etc. Comfortable rooms with ample space. Underfloor heating in the bathroom - a nice bonus! Great location for exploring the sites of Stockholm. Would definitely recommend.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
