This hotel is in a really good position: a lovely 10 minutes walk takes you straight to Drottningatan. Unfortunately, we chose it for it's strong personality rooms that we saw on the website: once there, our rooms (we saw 4 different rooms) were so sad and dark we were extremely disappointed. This aside, the rooms are clean and breakfast is...

The hotel has a nice little entrance with a small sitting area and a little bar area. Nicely decorated. There are a few steps leading down from the street into the lobby which is a little inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. I got my key (a real key) to a room on the second floor. Had to...

This city is expensive but this hotel is relatively well-priced. It's not in the city center but it's just a 10-15 minute walk and you get the benefit if a quieter neighborhood. There's a metro stop just two blocks away and the train station is a direct ~10 minute walk. There is a nice breakfast buffet, great/free wifi in the...

We had a 1st floor room in the lift, but ground level at the back. We overlooked a courtyard but had to keep the venetian blinds closed for privacy from the apartments across the courtyard. The room was an odd shape, but having said that, it was quite roomy. The bathroom was on the small side. Coffee/tea was provided. Laundry...

Stayed here for a conference. We walked from the train station with light luggage. The room was a decent size for Stockholm, though in the annex part of the main sister hotel, so its like entering through an apartment. But it was simple but nice and bright. Breakfast in the main building had the biggest range of food on my...

This hotel was great value for money in Stockholm which is a relatively expensive city. The room was comfy and clean, we had a toilet in our room and shared shower, we could only find one on our floor but never had to wait. As others have said you check in and have breakfast at the next door building (Freys...

Lovely little design hotel with extremely good location and friendly personell. Definitely will book this one again. Rooms are small but very clean, good beds, individual interiör design. Location next to Drottninggatan and a vide selection of restaurants is perfect for a couple of days and nights visit .

The service, breakfast and location of the hotel was great and we would book again for just these reasons. However, the double room, even though it was clean and beautifully decorated, is very small if travelling with a baby (baby cot). The double bed is very narrow and it was also very warm in the room (even with a fan),...

I stayed at the Bakfickan for 5 days. Our stay was helped by the wonderful staff, especially Emily and Agnes. They gave us directions, advice, and made reservations. They spent plenty of time with us. Life was a little complicated as the princess was getting married and traffic was crazy. The place we stayed is like a little studio with...

We booked this hotel and the plane tickets from Montreal, Quebec, Canada on the same billing. So the price of the hotel was much better !! We asked for twin beds but got a double bed instead. The double bed sort of caved in in the middle; stated differently, the edges of the bed slope inwards.. So , for a...

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
