Stayed here for one night at the end of a business trip ready to fly out the next morning. Hotel on arrival 11:15 pm was a little odd having walked through a very busy hotel bar area to reach the reception. Reception staff were very helpful and found the reservations quickly. The room was typical simple but effective scandinavian style....

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a Collette Vacations tour. We found it modern and comfortable with a good breakfast. They also offered a secure room for our luggage when we arrived early. First Hotel Amaranten is well-located. It was a short walk to city hall and the dock area where we took a cruise...

I stayed at First Hotel Amaranten with a friend while spending some time exploring Stockholm. We were looking for a 'nice' but not too expensive hotel that is centrally located. Overall we were rather satisfied with our stay, although I would probably not return. Amaranten is one of those 'mass production' hotels that offer a certain level of comfort for...

The hotel was clean, had a good location and nice breakfast. The gym should have better air conditioning, because it was too hot in there (compared to other gyms). The staff at the bar were really nice.

Good Service. Great breakfast. A small walk from the main train station and city centre, but this is great since its away from the main noise. Underground next to hotel. Room slightly small but big enough for 3 persons. A good deal all in all.

The one positive aspect of this hotel is the quality of service offered by the staff, which is faultless. Unfortunately this is not enough to make up for the other shortcomings of the hotel. A double bed is not, it seems a double bed, but two singles which have a habit of separating. The air conditioning is very much hit...

We stayed here during a 2 night stay in Stockholm. The hotel is busy but centrally, located steps away from the waterfront. The hotel also shares the same block as the Underground. There is a Coop and ATM right around the corner. Check in was smooth. Staff was very helpful and friendly with stellar English. There is a gift shop...

We stayed here for two nights last week. The hotel was clean with smaller rooms. Breakfast had somewhat limited choices but adequate. They run out of coffee quickly and making more coffee isn't a priority.Internet service was very unreliable. The staff was helpful. It isn't in a convenient location. It was quite a walk to shopping and museums and historic...

The bar area of this hotel is nice, the rest is terrible. The rooms are very small (just bigger than the bed) and the beds don't have full mattresses and pillows. I got to my room at 10pm after a short 2hr flight and as I couldn't relax there had to go to the bar. Had a big 32" tv...

This is a really nice hotel just a 10 minutes walk from the central station and Arlanda express. Very friendly staff at the reception and the lobby bar. Rooms well the suits at level 7 are modern and really nice. If you take the terass suit you will have a great experience. I really recommends Amaranten

Staying in Kungsholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Kungsholmen
Kungsholmen is one of the largest islands in central Stockholm and one of the most popular places to live. Its most famous attraction is Stockholm’s City Hall, which stands out with its monumental architecture and is one of the most photographed buildings in Sweden. Kungsholmen has its own little city center and shopping mall, its own beach and a lovely pedestrian area next to the water, which charms both locals and visitors with beautiful little cafés, restaurants and of course an awesome view. This neighborhood is perfect for a relaxed stroll followed by some coffee on a Sunday afternoon.

With only 700 meters from Stockholm's city center and 10 minutes walk to Central Station, the hotel is easily accessible and close to most attractions in Stockholm.Kungsholmen has a great variety of restaurants and has a charming nightlife, ranging from casual outdoor cafes to nightclubs. Near the hotel is also the City Hall and Town Hall, two of Stockholm's most famous silhouettes. At the hotel, we offer a gym, sauna and spa (the indoor pool is temporarily closed for renovations). If you book well in advance is also a personal trainer available. The hotel restaurant Kitchen & Table serves a combination of the best flavors of multicultural Manhattan with local ingredients from the region around one of Stockholm's most beautiful islands -Kungsholmen.
