We were only in Stockholm for one night and wanted to be in the centre. The hotel is perfectly located for easy walking around and with a nice view of the water. The furniture and fittings are not brand new which we found rather agreeable, we hadn't quite realised how little character places have these days and enjoyed the older...

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and nice rooms. Great location almost in the old town and justa block from the royal palace. One of my best hotel experiences in Stockholm. Good combination of old and modern style.

Lots of noise in the alley behind the hotel from early (about 5 am) in the morning. Room service was charged to the room in error, staff could not present any receipt or other documentation. I was forced to pay anyway but got a refund eventually after returning to the hotel to talk to a manager.

Nice rooms, but very small. Good breakfast. Lovely view over the sea and Skeppsholmen. Close to the city. Problem in the reception with handling the payment of the rooms, first on the arrival and then on checkout..

With four stars and a perfect location in The Old Town we expected more. The butter hade been mangled into its tray and the bread was stale and dry. Behind our bed we found loads of dust and the tiles in the bathroom had been drilled into without any craftsmanship. How can they charge 2400 SEK per night for this?

This hotel is situated in an excellent location close to the main sites of the city. To the front is the harbour and at the rear are the alleys and narrow streets of Gamla Stan (packed with restaurants, shops and tons of character). Just 5 minutes away is the Royal Palace (changing of the guard worth a look) and a...

Arrived here early on a Saturday morning after two long haul flights. Too early to check in but they have a secure luggage storage room and the girl at reception was really courteous and friendly. Walked out the front door and it was an easy stroll to the "centre" of town and the stores were beginning to open. After a...

Superb hotel overlooking the water. Great breakfast with a huge choice. Staff very attentive and very friendly. Lovely old building and in a great location by the palace and old town. Just need to take travel kettle as not one in he room.

Thank you for your review which I will share with my colleagues. We are in the process of equipping the rooms with kettle and has come as far as all rooms except standard and deluxe. We hope to see you back with us soon again to discover more of the lovely city of Stockholm. Enjoy the week

No, this was not a pleasant stay! The room was clean (except the fan in the closet that had lots of dust on the propellers). But tiles in the bathroom was broken, the shower curtain not there at all. Just the bar with the holders for the curtain. The only window in the room was across from an office. The...

Thank you for your feedback. We apreciate to hear from our guests and working hard to maintain every comment that we receive. I am sorry to hear that your recent stay did not match your expectations. The hotel is situated in Old Town which gives us a few challenges in terms of free space around the hotel, what we are...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
