The Lady Hamilton is a quaint, no-frills hotel that is located steps away from the Royal Palace and in walking distance to a ton of sights, restaurants, shopping venues, bridges, etc...My room was very small (the queen size bed filled 3/4 of the room), but it was cozy for sleeping and was very quiet. The bathroom was clean and modern....

It was only because I could not get a room in the hotel I usually book. But I have to say it was one of the best places I have stayed and I will get back on a family trip and explore the area around the hotel. The hotel is so different and exceptional compared to other hotels. The surroundings...

We were on the 2nd floor room 24. Very nice, spacious and clean with a jacuzzi and multiple views through the large windows of the cobblestone streets of Gamlastan. Many sites are within a short easy stroll from the hotel. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and made themselves available to assist with sightseeing, restaurant recommendations and transportation suggestions....

I did a lot of shopping around before booking my stay at Lady Hamilton. In the end I was very happy with my choice. First, the location is great. Its very easy to take the Arlanda Express from the airport into Stockholm and from Central Station the hotel is a short 10 minute walk. The hotel is very centrally located...

I'm all happy and satisfied with this hotel. Just a short walk from the Central Station and located in the old and picturesque town, this hotel's interior of a mix of old an new style, is a perfect match to make a suiting and relaxing atmosphere. Soft beds, god cleaning and a delightful breakfast just added up to my opinion...

This is a small hotel full of antiques. The photo on their website showing the lobby shows the ambiance of this hotel perfectly. From the collection of rocking horses to the dolls to the clocks, there is something unique on each floor and in each nook of the public rooms. Everything worked just right for us at the hotel: staff...

Spent two nights in this beautiful hotel, in Gamla Stan. Perfectly placed for the Royal Palace, the quayside, and historic streets. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever had, it was impossible to fault the selection of hot and cold foods on offer. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Comfortable room with excellent en-suite...

Great hotel if you are staying for a short stay. It is centrally located in the old town and within walking distance to most attractions. I had a single room with a single bed and not much room but the bathroom was very spacious. There is a sauna but I didn't get around to using it. Breakfast was continental but...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
