Detailed Reviews
Stayed one night. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Checkout was 10.30am. Nice breakfast served from 8.30am to 11am with variety of options on the menu - cereals, porridge, Irish fry, vegetarian fry, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Twin room was reasonably comfortable. Shared bathroom. Kitchen facility and lounge room available for use. Bar downstairs is a little outdated but service was excellent. Nice pint of Guinness. Would recommend staying here if looking for overnight stay visiting Slieve League (15 minute drive to Bunglass Point) or travelling The Wild Atlantic Way. Parking is on street.

The lodge is centered around an authentic local bar and restaurant with great food and desserts: this is why you want to stay here, to interact with the locals and eat well. Our room was small and clean. However, the bed was too small. We are both 6ft. tall and the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom shower door was broken and needed repairs. Also, there was no shelving to hold your soap etc. in the shower itself. Directly outside our room was a roof-top sitting area with a table and chairs. Loud people outside could potentially disturb your rest or sleep. Also, they play live rock/pop music half of the week until late at night and it can be heard throughout the hotel. So early sleepers beware.

For €40 this is great value. Clean and tidy but a few things should be considered. There was nothing to put your valise on, tv is in a poor location, bathroom exhaust fan is too loud. Would I stay here again- you betcha! Dinner was delightful! Seafood platter with a couple of glasses of Sauvignon blanc- woowa.

Slieve League Lodge is ideally placed as a base to explore Donegal from, take any of the roads out of Carrick and it’s an adventure around Donegal mountains and valleys, beaches and waterfalls.
Accommodation is very clean, warm and easy to access. Breakfast and evening meals were multiple choice options and very well cooked using fresh local produce.
Staff were very pleasant and engaging in conversations.
Very satisfied with our choice of accommodation for exploring this corner of Donegal.

The lovely waitress served us both supper and breakfast. She was a treat. Her husband served at the bar. He fixed the problem we had with the television and gave us an extra beer for the evening. Quite the charming character he is. For breakfast the waitress continued to fill my spouses cup with extra juice each time it was empty without charging us extra. She had great advice for our days travel too. Great bar with lots of local color. Families as well as singles filled the restaurant and bar for the evening.

We were visiting Slieve League Cliffs and this area to view the coastal scenery of Southwest Donegal. We had a great bed, breakfast and evening meal. The rooms were nice, clean and quaint. We came back down at 930pm for some drinks and the bar was lively and everyone was friendly. I'd recommend it.

The staff were very friendly & made us feel very welcome. I asked the waitress what was Gluten Free & she checked with the chef. They were so accommodating. I actually got something that wasn't even on the menu. I'm so glad I asked. It was delicious 😋

Great location with bar serving good food all day below. Rooms are basic but comfortable and spotless, breakfast was delicious. The staff were very kind and helpful. Only downside was noise from the street and sometimes other guests, but to be expected for such a bargain spot in Sliabh Liag area. Had a ball, thanks.

Stayed one night on our trip through Donegal. Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. We had a double room with 2 single beds and stayed on a B&B basis. The bathroom was tiny and took a bit of manovouring to get into the toilet but that was our only negative comment.
We hadn't booked for an evening meal but they were able to fit us in and we had a lovely meal. Would definitely stay again. Really lovely, helpful staff.

You can have your room with breakfast. Or if you prefer there is a shop across the road to buy groceries and a huge kitchen for you to cook and eat in. When emailing or phoning please state your preference as the cost will vary.
