We stayed here overnight on the way back to the UK. Good size room, good location and really helpful staff. Lots of play area for the kids and a big park at the back for walks. It's quite basic but very clean and for an overnight stay a good option all around

Good value for your money, place was nice, room was clean and breakfast buffet was superb. Place is quite far from city but public transports are located very near. Would recommend for familys that want to stay economically but still in a clean and safe place.

Myself and a friend went to Copenhagen in May, we hadn't stayed in a European hostel before this as we are only 19.. so we weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised from the start. We had a twin room so we didn't have our own bathroom, but the corridor bathrooms are cleaned 3 times daily and every time... More

I have just returned from a 2 night break from Copenhagen with my partner & 12 year old daughter! The hostel was clean, tidy & the staff were friendly & helpful! The hotel wasn't the ritz, and you had to pay for your linen (which was no bother at all and clearly stated when booking) but it was worth the... More

The DanHostel Amager is a lovely hostel/hotel located to the south of Copenhagen city centre. We arrived quite late but the reception was staffed and the lady who served us was very pleasant - sheets are extra, but we knew this before we arrived and were happy to pay the small charge so we didn't have to bring sheets with... Good things about this hostel is that is was cheap (initially) and fairly clean. Other than that, there are unexpected charges which catch you out like having to pay for bedding and towels. I would recommend telling staff you have your own bedding and towels when you check in so they don't charge, but then just make sure you don't... More

The staff was rude and impolite, and were practically making fun of me when I asked them if I could charge my phone at their desk - it was, of course, a No. I had previsouly read other reviews saying how bad the staff was, but I didn't believe it until I met them! The bathroom is not very clean... More

PROS: great common areas (large kitchen, lots of seating in lobby); free and good wifi; friendly and organized staff; 10 minute walk from metro station CONS: not located in city center (because metro/bus is quite expensive, its not worth it to stay further from the city if your main intention is to sight-see downtown); had to pay extra for sheets/towels... Honestly, it's like stepping inside a huge Lego City kit. The nearby train station is *exactly* like a Lego train. The skyscraper that dominates the skyline could have been designed by the Lego team. The hostel itself is clean and chunky. Super organised. Set in parkland - one morning I got up early and was delighted to see a couple... More

Although this is cheaper compare with other hotels in Copenhagen, but finally it is not cheap at all. Room is small with 2 small folding beds. You have to pay for the bedclothes, breakfast (Kr.60/ person). You have to bring your own towels. We had to make up our bed and then took it off and bring it to the... More

Staying in Amager

Neighbourhood Profile
Amager
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.
