First off, this hotel is cheap, really cheap so please don’t expect the Ritz level of service and be realistic. What you get for your extremely reasonable coin is a very friendly, clean hotel with an excellent location.

The rooms are small but they do a job and there’s no real complaints.

The location is literally the wrong side of the tracks but the tracks are really close so it really isn’t an issue.

It can be a bit noisy but there’s not a huge amount that they can do about that. The bar is cheap in comparison to the average drink prices and I can’t comment on breakfast because we ate out.

Overall, well worth it; which is rare in a city that is eye wateringly expensive at best.

There are lots of good things about this hotel. Good value for £, a great central location (if you use the lower concourse entrance from Copenhagen central station you are literally 200 metres from the hotel). Very friendly staff, great breakfast, a nice courtyard to sit and enjoy a cheap beer in. The only negative is the double room was small. I would be more than happy to use it again.

Positive: Nice hotelroom and great size for the two of us. Big bathroom, and clean. Very nice staff. We arrived early and the room wasn’t ready, so we we’re immediately switched to another room. Perfect location. Literally a 30sec walk to the nearest metro with connection to all of copenhagen. 3min walk to the Tivoli.

Negative: Bad air quality in the room. Had to open both window and the hotel room- door to get good circulation. Luckily there was a fan that we used at night. Breakfast was not worth paying for. We went out for breakfast even though we had already paid for it. Not much to select from. Eggs were boiles so long that the yolk was green. Cold drinks were not cold, coffee was not good and the dining hall appeared worn down to the point that it looked dirty.

All in all: Would stay again, but not pay for breakfast.

For those with little desire to read: be luckier in another hotel. Unfortunately I have to report that this hotel has a problem. The morning shift receptionist is rude and unfriendly, capable of ruining your day and overall vacation. The hotel doesn't change the towels every day (isn't that too much 3 stars for a hotel that doesn't change towels daily?) And on one day of the week we stayed here, we didn't have the makeup room: room vacated at 8am -8.30 in the morning we visited the city and we returned to the room at 13.30, at the exact moment we returned they wanted makeup room, we asked for half an hour to do our things, at 14 when we gave the availability of the room for makeup a ' lazy operator and always in the presence of the receptionist on the morning shift she replied that her work was finished.

Excellent location near the main railway station so great access for trains, metro and buses. Less than 10 minutes from Tivoli Gardens with an easy walk through the station. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were vey helpful with our questions. The self service buffet breakfast was a good standard in a very stylish dining room. We had an early check in on a Tuesday, and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until our Friday evening flight. Would definitely stay here again. I used my last American Airline miles as part payment, booking via the AA advantage web site.

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel based on the positive online reviews. A room for our adult kids and a room for us. Upon arriving we quickly discover our assigned rooms could barely accommodate 2 adults. The rooms are tiny, a double room would be fine for 1 person but not for 2 people. We left the washroom door open and used the toilet as a chair as there was only one other chair in the room. I reviewed the photos of the rooms and they are misleading. The room are small, the decor is dated and the amenities are limited. Our stay was 3 days so we ended up booking a larger room in another hotel, giving the 2 rooms at Ansgar to our 2 adult kids. Unfortunately we double our costs for this stint of our trip. I have trouble believing some of the comments online and would not recommend this hotel. On a positive note, the front desk was friendly, the hotel had bikes to rent and the location of the hotel was good although a little sketchy later at night.

My stay at Hotel Ansgar was well beyond what I expected. The hotel itself is clean pleasant and very well situated. Though the room was very small, this was more than comps seated by the location. And the many decent restaurants and cafes nearby (I didn’t go to Copenhagen to stay in my room). This review is about the service I received. Upon arrival I was greeted in a very friendly and professional manner and this continued throughout my visit. I never got the sense that I was anything other than a valued customer. After my stay was over ai was at the airport and realized I had left my passport in my room’s safe box. When ai phoned the front desk they immediately located my passport and figured out a way to get it to me before ai missed my flight. This is outstanding service. Outstanding!!

The location is perfect as it's just moments away from the Central Station. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room could be viewed as small, but for one person over a weekend it was fine. Very quiet room with no street noise even with the window open. Easy walking distance to several restaurants and pubs on the non-Tivoli side of Copenhagen. Would look to stay here again.

Great location, friendly staff are the only positives.
Paper thin walls and no sound proofing between floors meant you heard every other guest.
Small rooms, barely big enough to swing a cat, double bed pushed against the wall, so gave to climb over partner if you need the toilet during the night.
By far the biggest issue was the smell from the bathroom drains that lingered everyday. Think it must be an ongoing issue as receptionist didn’t bat an eyelid when we raised the problem.
Cheap by Copenhagen standards, but expensive for what we got and definitely not worth what we paid for 4 nights.

Worst hotel experience ever!!!. I'd like to give 0 stars.
I booked an acommodation here, which was the worst decision ever. Due to circumstances combined with the flight I could not make it to the hotel in time. No money back (even though i booked with the possibility to cancel the reservation -so i paid extra money) , no comprehension that the circumstances of the flight were not in my hands, nothing but profit in the mind of that hotel -> i have to pay although i never got any of the services (no accomodation, no breakfast, etc.) - very disappointing , no friendly communication, they are not interested in "good guest experience" , i can definitely not recommend going there. Never again.

Hello, in the bathroom, a large bottle of shower gel. At the expense of a hairdryer, unfortunately, I do not remember.
