The design/execution of the rooms, walls, beams isn't really very attractive. But certainly tolerable. A few times we could not get any one at the front desk to answer and had to go down there to have our questions answered. Breakfasts were very good and worth the price with wonderful fresh fruit and a great variety. Originally we had requested...

Stayed here for three nights in a Junior suite which was adequate. Small room as expected but mezzanine floor where the bed was situated is up a steep set of stairs. bathroom again is sufficient but nothing special. bed very comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. Excellent location and nice sitting outside. As expected beverages over priced and a shame...

The Admiral has a great location and the people are very helpful. Our room had a view of the water and was very comfortable. We were able to walk to most places( like Nyhavn ) and would recommend this hotel and would gladly stay there again

We were in Copenhagen for two days. We were easily able to locate the hotel from the metro station. There is a lot of metro construction going on in the City. This hotel has a wonderful nautical theme. The hotel is large and right on the water. Currently there is construction on a pier in front of the hotel. This...

Stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. The room and bathroom are good size and clean. As I knew before booking there is no air conditioning but very few hotels in Copenhagen have A/C. It was VERY noisy in the morning with trucks loading/unloading when sleeping with the window open. It is walking distance to Nyhavn and the restaurants...

A nice hotel near the city center. The rooms where good and the beds confortable. I was there in winter and was worried about the rooms being cold, but the temparture was good. They have a fancy restaurant in the hotel, a bit overpriced, but not bad for a hotel.

You know, there is just no excuse these days for not being informed. There is a huge amount of information out there and all one has to do is slow the heck down and read some of it. Then make a choice based on what is important to you. The Hotel Admiral is a fine, historic property with NO AIR...

we stayed for five nights on a business trip. The rooms are quite original as the whole hotel. We had a room to the roadside which was quite loud either from traffic of from people leaving the hotel or restaurant late ( between 2-4 am). As there is no air conditionning with the window open, sleep can be quite difficult....

We stayed at this hotel in early June and were very satisfied. Even though their was no air conditioning there was a great canal breeze and sleeping was very comfortable. Our room included an excellent full breakfast which was a great way to start the day. The entire staff was customer service focused and made you feel welcome. The location...

Like you (you're reading this), I researched the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel before booking it for 4 nights in mid June 2014 and noticed that it is listed as having no air conditioning. As it had 4 stars and charged $400 per night for a delux double room (no breakfast), I assumed that there was ventilation but no air-conditioning. I was...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
