I visited Copenaghen in a 5 day tour and I chose this hotel because there was a cheap package with the flight included. The accomodation is estremely nice and it is not very expensive; it is located in an area in which lots of embassies have their seats. It is a huge and old building but it is has been...

We stayed here and loved the location. The hotel is very nice and a pleasant place to stay. Our suite on the top floor was disappointing and not a very good deal. Our bed was a very steep climb to a loft above the seating area and the bathroom. The windows offered a beautiful view of the harbor only you...

Asked for a quiet room with sea view. Sea we got in the midddle of a building site! Building started 6.00 a.m.... The ladies at the desk were very polite, but could not help. No air conditioning! The room was nothing special considering the price. Will not revert. Have stayed in the hotel 5-6 years ago and the pace is...

The hotel is an old building which was remodeled. But, it has wood columns in the middle of the room. The beds are VERY uncomfortable. I went in the summer, June, and it was VERY hot and it had NO air-conditioning... Would not go there again.

Very small room. No air conditioning on a warm night in Copenhagen Room was on first floor facing the street so leaving window open meant loud noise thru the night. I have stayed in better rooms in Copenhagen. I had arranged an upgraded room. Thank god I didn't go for the basic room. It must be minute.! Room was clean,...

great hotel, kind and helpful staff, perfect location for city life; 2 negative observations: breakfast is really expensive and the laundry service lousy: it is the first time that I had to bring personally at the reception of a 4 star hotel my laundry and the service is available only once per day and not on Sundays.

Excellent to visit Copenhagen . Very close to Nyhavn and the Amaliaborg palace. Good rooms, good breakfast. Mix of business people and tourists. We're stayed on the fifth floor, and had almost never had to wait to use the lift. Expensive to park your car. Helpfull personnel in the hotel.

Just stayed four nights at this hotel which is a fabulous old building on the harbour and only a five minute walk from The Amelienborg Royal Palace. There is a lot of construction going on at the harbour but it didn't spoil our stay and we had a room on the street side but the traffic wasn't too noisy even...

I spent two nights and two conference days at the hotel. It is suitable for smaller events but everything was arranged perfectly. The hotel is very well located, most Copenhagen attractions are within 15 min. walking. During coffee brakes you can stroll in the harbour just in front of the conference rooms. The hotel has a charming atmosphere with boat...

This is a beautiful old building that has been remodeled for modern amenities. The location is great in the center of the city. The restaurant was pretty good named Salt. My main complaint is that they are constructing something on a dock just yards away from the back of the hotel that overlooks the water. It is a bit noisy...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
