This is a beautiful old building that has been remodeled for modern amenities. The location is great in the center of the city. The restaurant was pretty good named Salt. My main complaint is that they are constructing something on a dock just yards away from the back of the hotel that overlooks the water. It is a bit noisy...

Stayed three nights at this hotel. The location is great and the views from the restaurant are nice. We changed rooms from one on the noisy street side of the hotel to one with a view of the harbor. Well worth the extra $20 per night. The terrace cafe is great for drinks and a light dinner.

Loved this hotel and we're very particular about hotels. Actually moved from another one on our second trip back after a cruise. Excellent hotel, great service and perfect location. Wonderful outdoor patio too. Only issue was that it was very warm in the rooms so ask for a water view room (1/2 of the hotel)--more breeze. Very few, if any,...

This is a good four star international hotel. It will suit tourists and couples. It's probably too individualistic for the usual business traveller who wants a predictable stay in a concrete rabbit hutch that looks like everyone else's concrete rabbit hutch. The building is in the old harbour district. It is converted from an old grain store, which means that...

I'm very glad we stayed at the Admiral -- great location, delightful old former granary, friendly and helpful staff. Having said that, on our next visit to Copenhagen we'll go elsewhere. Working out reservations via email, even with our travel agent involved, was rather tedious. We opted for a two-story room (loft is up a steep staircase) on the water...

Stayed at Admiral for a week during a business trip and was immediately impressed with the facade and location. If you are not fussy about rooms, Admiral will do. But if you're expecting a four star experience, expect to be disappointed. Admiral is a big hotel and caters to big groups, but not the regular business traveler looking for a...

If you are planning a short visit to Copenhagen then this hotel fits the bill. The location makes it ideal for seeing all the sights easily and the unique style of the rooms make for an interesting change of pace, though the bathroom was a little small. We enjoyed a 2 story suite with harbor view and found the noise level very...

I was in Copenhagen for a conference that made the Admiral's location very convenient. The conference put me up there. The hotel caters to big groups of tourists and is not really set up for business travelers--which makes sense, as it is located on the harbor, very close to one of Copenhagen's main iconic attractions, the Little Mermaid. This means...

This is my second visit to the Admiral Hotel. I stayed here last year while attending MAD 3 put on by the folks from Restaurant Noma. The staff is very accommodating. The breakfast is excellent. The only thing that needs to step up a notch is the on site SALT Restaurant which is very hiit or miss. It is very...

Top location, very cozy, nice rooms, all together a good 4-star hotel. A few basic improvements would improve the experience though: More room amenities needed as slippers, bathrobe and an amenity kit, all basics in any 4-star property, just towels and shampoo in the bathroom is a bit too basic. A safe that can room more than an iPad would...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
