The noise outside is very loud - windows need to be open due to lack of A/c so hence very poor sleep. On both occasions we tried to take dinner in SALT the restaurant we were refused on the basis that the it was full even though it was half empty. The lady managing access was very rude and officious... More

I enjoyed my stay at the Admiral, the view was really nice and it was conveniently located for access to the downtown Copenhagen area and shopping. However I was staying here for an extended period and this was not my first trip to Denmark, so it was a little frustrating not having any capabilities to really eat or keep food... More

Spent 3 nights here in May on a short break. The hotel is well located particularly for Nyhavn and the Amalienborg palace but nothing was too far away as we hired bikes from the hotel reception twice and it was a fantastic way to get around the city, see the sites and get to more remote parts - this place... Worst stay ever in Admiral which is normally a good hotel. Room 103 is very hot during summer reason why window needs to be open however it is jut above taxi station. Hotel didn't want to change but nights were horrible.

We stayed at the Admiral for a recent business trip I was on. I have mixed feelings on the hotel to be honest but overall it was in the top half of the places we stayed on the trip. The good: Great location for walking to just about everything. We walked as far as Tivoli and Christiania. Those are both... More

I visited Copenaghen in a 5 day tour and I chose this hotel because there was a cheap package with the flight included. The accomodation is estremely nice and it is not very expensive; it is located in an area in which lots of embassies have their seats. It is a huge and old building but it is has been... More

We stayed here and loved the location. The hotel is very nice and a pleasant place to stay. Our suite on the top floor was disappointing and not a very good deal. Our bed was a very steep climb to a loft above the seating area and the bathroom. The windows offered a beautiful view of the harbor only you... More

Asked for a quiet room with sea view. Sea we got in the midddle of a building site! Building started 6.00 a.m.... The ladies at the desk were very polite, but could not help. No air conditioning! The room was nothing special considering the price. Will not revert. Have stayed in the hotel 5-6 years ago and the pace is... More

The hotel is an old building which was remodeled. But, it has wood columns in the middle of the room. The beds are VERY uncomfortable. I went in the summer, June, and it was VERY hot and it had NO air-conditioning... Would not go there again.

Very small room. No air conditioning on a warm night in Copenhagen Room was on first floor facing the street so leaving window open meant loud noise thru the night. I have stayed in better rooms in Copenhagen. I had arranged an upgraded room. Thank god I didn't go for the basic room. It must be minute.! Room was clean,... More

This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
