Excellent Hotel in Coepnhagen within walking distance to Nyhaven (5 minutes), shopping district (8 minutes), Opera (across the water) and Little Mermaid (20 minutes). Clean, friendly and helpful staff, rooms to ocean cost a little surcharge (28 € per day) but a worth the investment

Stayed here four nights over Christmas. Location could not be better, it is close to everything. Our room was large but so dated and very dark. No kidding, we used our torch on a couple of occasions. Mini bar had sensors so you could not put anything in it. Am I the only person who has a problem with this?...

We got a very easy and convenient metro from CPH airport to Kongens Nytorv and then this was a 10 minute walk via Nyhavn to the hotel. I would suggest picking up a free map from the airport and Kongens Nytorv can be found along the 'M' metro line. The reception, bar, restaurant of the hotel are fantastic, all very...

Location: The Admiral Hotel is a waterfront hotel very well located for the Nhyvan. The hotel is close to a number of tourist attractions including Amalienborg palace and the Little Mermaid can easily be reached by foot. The main shopping strip, Stroget, is an easy 15 minute walk. Room: The room was styled in a typical Scandinavian fashion. While the...

We requested a quiet room overlooking the water and got a noisy room street side. Which is fair enough, but we booked a deluxe room with a double bed and got a room with 2 beds pushed together. This seems to be very common in Scandinavia, especially having 2 separate single duvets, BUT in other hotels we at least got...

Just back from a couple of nights in this hotel. It's a great location, an easy walk to the Little Mermaid or to the shopping area but away from the crowds. We had a junior suite with a sofa bed for our daughter. These rooms are on two levels with the main bed upstairs. This worked fine, though the rooms...

Just a brief story of what happened after we stayed at Admiral Hotel. We left Copenhagen to St Petersburg. When we realised we left out foreign monies in the safe at Admiral Hotel. We called the hotel and was answered by one of the receptionists who was very efficient’ and professional. She did what she said she will pass the...

This hotel ticks all the boxes - it's close to the centre of Copenhagen and particularly close to Nyhavn, which is gorgeous. The lobby area and bar is lovely and was particularly festive in December. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The bathrooms are a little outdated but fine. We didn't have breakfast as it seemed pricey but the food...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights over the Christmas period and it was amazing. The facilities are incredible, with very cosy and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Be sure to check out the buffet breakfast they have on offer because it is incredible, with a great selection of foods. This hotel is located in a perfect location to...

Stayed with family. Hotel renovated old grain storage warehouse. We had large rooms which were functional and comfortable. Street facing rooms which I would avoid due to either road noise or taxis idling. Staff pleasant and multilingual. Breakfast good as well as restaurant. Close to Papireon food court for good informal eating out choices across the bridge( has the red...

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
