Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very average experience. The staff are nice and welcoming. The check-in was seamless. Evening meal and breakfast was pretty run of the mill fare but okay. The room was fairly depressing even by airport hotel standards; bare, spartan, sparsely furnished, stained carpet, worn out towels, no coffee making facilities or much else for that matter. The bed had some kind of bunk bed over the top of it. I would not choose to stay here again.

Lovely staff in the bar! We had a good time before our flight home. So many kinds of craft beer and drinks. We tried the somersby cider as well. Its a danish thing. Lovely atmosphere at the lobby at night - Maria and Malene makes sure of that! Will be back.

We wish to thank you very much for making our December 2023 stay so comfortable. In particular Maria's customer service was outstanding. It started as soon as we walked in the door, she greeted us by name, which was impressive and made us feel special and yet at home. Maria helped every step of the way, making our rooms more comfortable, attending to one of our children when he was unwell, listening understanding and assisting with travel and visitation recommendations. Maria really went out of her way to assist us. She was attentive and kind. Please pass on our sincere gratitude to Maria. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and best wishes for health, happiness and a successful 2024.

I have been coming to this hotel for several years and it has always been pleasant, friendly, clean and well-appointed. He also recently changed his name. The hotel staff was always friendly. During this short visit, however, I was very positively surprised by the employee at the reception. With her positive, cheerful energy, good will and always ready to help all the guests, of whom there were quite a few at the reception...a real positive employee in the right workplace, who performs her work with great joy and good will, with a smile and kindness, a true professional, with which all guests feel welcome and wanted in the hotel. Super positive energy in the right place, a great person I had the opportunity to meet, and because she radiates such a special positive energy, I also asked her by name. Maria Theresa says she is, and if you visit this hotel and she's at work, you're in luck and you'll really feel like a welcome guest... Keep it up, and good luck in the future ;)

Very well located hotel at 5 min walking distance from the airport. Rooms are very small with no in room temp controls, which leaves no option other than opening a window, which is never the best idea when you are close to an airport, even if small. On the bright side, the room was very quiet and a very decent breakfast is served as from 3am. There is also a restaurant- actually more a small bar that serves a decent hamburger or ceasar salad and a few other simple dishes

This is a great hotel within walking distance to the airport terminal. We visited a few weeks ago to spend some time at nearby Legoland. There were no affordable rooms at any of the Lego hotels and to be honest we prefer something quieter, as my Son often gets upset with crying or screaming children, due to his disability. If you are worried about the close proximity to the airport, the sound proofing is actually pretty good and we were in a room facing the terminal building. If, like my Son you have an interest in airplanes, there are some great viewing windows to be had from some of the rooms! The staff were really nice and couldn’t have been more helpful and as we arrived early, there was a room to store your luggage until your room was ready. Breakfast was buffet style, plentiful, fresh and a great variety of both cooked and continental style was available. We had dinner in the hotel on one occasion. As you would expect from any airport hotel is was quite expensive however, was a good portion size and was definitely tasty. I loved the biodegradable room keys made of cheery wood. Buses to Billund and beyond are available just a few minutes walk away down the path and you can pick up your ticket in advance from the ticket machine at the arrivals end of the terminal building. This is particularly useful if you need to pay by card, as only some of the buses accept these for payment. Euros and DKK are accepted on board but no euro coins, just notes. I thought this was a great hotel to stay in for our visit and would definitely stay here again should we return.

In my many years of travelling around the world, I have now discovered the worst designed hotel. Starting with the automated check-in via a tablet that wasn't working, followed by the slowest lift carefully hidden from weary travellers. These were mere annoying details compared with the 'main attraction' - the bedroom! The room is small, with only just enough room to shuffle around the bed. But I've stayed in small rooms in Japan where every inch is carefully designed to give a great experience. Not the case at the Billund Airport hotel where designers have crammed as many features as possible to make the guests experience as miserable as possible. Let's start with the bathroom which has no room to place your washbag. The shower is part of the room with only a (stained) shower curtain separating the water from the rest of the room so the floor becomes wet. There, of course, is no bath mat provided, so the floor remains as wet as possible. The toilet has been positioned as close as possible to an angled wall, so you have to sit at an angle. The curtains have been designed, so they look like curtains but without functionality, so the room is bathed in light. Finally the air-conditioning has no control so you will find it difficult to sleep unless you open the window when you will be woken by the first aircraft taking off and the room will fill with the sweet smell of aircraft fuel.

Unfortunately we had little option and had to book a stay here before our flight the following morning. It was super expensive which was a negative from the start. On arrival you are told to check on the ipad but it couldn't find my booking. It was sorted quickly by the staff but it just felt like a cheap way to save them money! The lift is poorly signposted and very slow. As its the only one, it takes forever to get to you as it has so many stops to make. On entering the room I thought it didn't even have carpet- turns out it does, sort of but it's certainly not a thick pile. As it's so thin your footsteps are very loud. The bathroom is just a wet room with a crappy shower curtain so the floor gets soaking, as does the toilet seat if you're silly enough to forget to drop the lid... I can't fault the staff, they were friendly and helpful, but the overwhelming feel of the place is that its mean - everything geared to save money. But you know I wouldn't have minded that if it wasn't so outrageously expensive in the first place! It is super convenient for the airport though, so if you do have to stay there is at least thst positive!

This hotel is literally a few minutes walk from the airport. I travelled with children, arriving at the airport close to midnight, but we felt really safe walking from the well lit airport path to the hotel. On arrival, there was a little Lego table to keep the young ones occupied whilst I checked in. There was an online check in facility which unfortunately didn’t work for me so I approached the receptionist who was very welcoming and checked me in. We opted for a family room which was comfortable and provided enough beds for all of us ( 5 people in total). There were also a good number of towels provided to us. We are only here for 1 night as we wanted to be close to the airport for the first night before exploring Denmark. The accommodation is fine for us as it is literally a stop over. We did not receive any bottled water or have a minibar in the room and there were no toiletries. However, the receptionist said that the kitchen closed at midnight for room service, if we needed anything and there is also a buffet breakfast from 3am to 11am which js very convenient. The view from our room wasn’t great. All in all, a comfortable stay, clean hotel, friendly receptionist and good experience. By the way, the windows opened fully in our hotel room so be careful if you have little ones. We were a little warm through the night so we opened the window for some fresh air and of course were greeted by the sound of the planes which is to be expected seeing as we are in such close proximity of the airport. The noise is practically non existent when the windows are closed.
