Very nice staff, clean og relatively large room om the 4th floor. The breakfast was fine with homebaked bread. The Kitchen had what er needed. We will definately be staying here the next time we visit Aarhus.

Super sweet staff, but I never got redeemed my bad experience. I visited on business, and was only interested in the sleeping facility, which is what you pay for, in booking a room with only a bed. My sleep was of upmost importance for me, as I was working 14 hours per day within the 3 days of my stay, with an important culmination the last day at my work. I got woken up around 5 o'clock by hammering from work in the building which continued on and off a couple of times that morning, and then at 6:30 by drilling machines. It had a big effect on my work duties the days to come. The next day there was a party, next to my door, finishing around 1:00 o'clock in morning. I have reached out to the staff who offered me a breakfast, which I, because of my work, cannot accept. They haven't given me a counter offer. Showering facilities was not optimal, as there is no place to put your clothes when showering, forcing me to prepare naked in showering hall where other gusts, women and men, where as well. All in all I do not see the price I paid justify the stay I got offered. Checkout opening was too late for me, I had a need for check out early (between 7 and 8), but I couldn't find an option for it, which I didn't expect at the time.

Response from Klaus Eriksen, Owner at Danhostel Aarhus City
Responded 13 Jun 2021
Hi FjaldeH, Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we always strive to learn from your feedback. First of all, we are glad to hear that our staff, had a positive impact on your stay. We are sorry to hear your experience of noise, we do our best to inform our guests to respect each other and thereby be quiet from 10PM, unfortunately not everyone finds this as important as we do. We also inform about our current remodeling, and it surprises me that you have heard building noise from 5AM, so it must have been a unfortunate coincidence, as our workers normally starts at 7AM at the earliest. Regarding the showering facilities your experience is taken into account. As an information, the rooms on the new floor, which soon will be ready fore rent, have there own toilet and shower. Despite your experience, we hope to welcome you another time, as we would like to change an unfortunate first-hand impression. :)
