Since we changed our holiday-type to stay cation, we have explored several areas of Denmark: Lunds Hotel in Bogense is really quite a find! The location between the sea and the harbour is very relaxing. We were assigned room 4 which overlooks the sea. The sunrise over the near-lying Seagull Islands Islands is spectacular. Breakfast is an artistically displayed selection of cold and warm dishes, plus coffee or tea, fruit juice and bread. The official starting time is hrs 08.00, but the owner is willing to consider an earlier time. A very hospitable pair of hosts. Other meals have to be eaten elsewhere: opening times of the local cafés and restaurants are somewhat diminished (presumably due to the rise in self-catering holidays following the coronavirus epidemic) and require careful checking in order to avoid disappointment. …
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. If you think it's pricey, don't let that put you off - you will not regret it. Great location, wonderful breakfast, lovely rooms, friendly, easy going hosts. And they have face-cloths! (So few hotels provide them).
My wife and I took a few days travelling away from home. With all the corona restrictions it was great to get away. We stayed at Lunds Hotel which really was a fantastic experience. Great hotel on the waterfront with excellent rooms and event better service. Fantastic breakfast next morning. Jan and Sanne have really a fantastic hotel here. Denmarks smallest beach hotel with 6 rooms, but well worth the visit. Can also recommend Resturant Møber which is within walking distance for exquisite kusines. Fantastic
Our friends were kind enough to drive us around Funen for a few days - we weren't familiar with the area. After a visit to the fantastic CLAY museum, on our way back to Odense, we detoured to the delightful fishing town of Bogense for a cup of coffee on the terrace of this hotel. Lovely - great view of the sea and excellent coffee.
We had a nice lunch here. We got some tapas. I think this tapas is not a normal part of the service. It was great. It was a mix between italien, Spanish and Danish tapas. I prefer one style. .We saw the nice rooms at the hotel. New and proper. Nice for at weekend.
Located between the harbor and the sea with just a few really nice rooms, al with a small terrace either towards the sea or the harbor. Fantastic people running the little hotel. Off season quiet and peacefull, in summer crowded and filled up with people everywhere. Breakfast really nice. Summertime a cafe/bar is opening up on the pier where all people move around. If you have the opportunity, try this place.
What a find! This small hotel is a delight. Expect a warm and friendly welcome from the owners Jan and Suzanne. There are fabulous views of the ocean or the harbour depending on which of the 6 rooms you have. The rooms are immaculate and exceptionally clean with fine attention to detail. The breakfast is just delicious. How rare to find such a fine and relaxed little hotel in such a stunning location. A stay here is restorative and good for the soul. You will only want to return. Highly recommended.
This is really a gem. A small hotel at the harbour front in Bogense with water on both sides. On one side a small harbour with a lot of sailboats and on the other side a view over the ocean to the small island, Æbleø. Very nice rooms with a great view and a small terrace. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.
The hotel owner, Jan, is a great guy who is service minded and friendly in a wonderful way that one does not experience at larger hotels. He personally welcomes you at check-in, prepares and serves breakfast and is available during the day if you have any questions. The hotel is new, rooms are clean and the sea/harbour is close by. Breakfast is great, although the same every day with no opportunities to choose different options. The rooms are nice but especially in summer time there is a lot of light at night as the blinds/curtains don't block effectively - so be prepared to wake up when the sun rises. Some may like this, personally I don't. Further, it would be nice to have the duvets ("dyner" in Danish) in an extra length (210 cm) version as standard in all rooms, so you don't wake up in the middle of the night because your toes are freezing. This you would expect at hotels today. Small, but important, things that, however, should not subtract from the fact that this is a really nice, cosy hotel in a picturesque small city.…
First time I have given highest score on Tripadvisor. Extraordionary staff. New. Clean. Cosy. Ocean view. Free parking. Exceeding expectations on the breakfest. Truely friendly staff. Close to small town ideal for small walks. Stayed one night in March 2017 and we will return.
