We have visited this hotel on quite a few occasions and always enjoy. I know that some of the rooms are in the basement and also others need updating but we upgraded to a sea view which we thought was good value. The breakfast area on the top floor has great views over the harbour and you get to see...

This is a nice hotel, although not the one we booked for! On arrival we were allocated a basement room which wasnt nice at all. We were re.located for three nights to hotel in town centre which was only mediocre. We were then upgraded to a sea view room at the Alkyon which was really nice (201). Staff are lovely....

Just returned from a weeks stay and hotel is absolutely fine. It is dated and I imagine much hasn't changed since those 1960's black and white photos that are around the place were taken ( the bathroom was new and very nice) and many rooms don't have that amazing sea view so dissapointed in that. Breakfast is not great (...

You could pick a lot of holes with the Alkyon and those whose penchant is for a luxury hotel no doubt will: it's not particularly smart, the breakfast is pretty unappetizing, the plumbing's a bit hit and miss, wi-fi is only available in the reception area, and so on and so on. But despite all this my wife and I...

Very tired and dated, needs investment. Good location and air con in the room. Pool area particularly poor and as for the decor in the corridor area, well...seeing is believing! In terms of the breakfast...think lower end discount food.

Love this hotel!! Great location close to sea front restaurants and the bus terminal. The reception staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Yes, they are typically basic Greek but we wouldn't want them to be different - it's all part of the Greece experience. Free air conditioning is a bonus. We had a room on the...

This was our 7th visit to the Alkyon- in my opinion there isn't a better hotel in skiathos town . The rooms are clean and comfortable - all the bathrooms have been refurbished and are 100% improvement on the old ones! The staff are wonderful - very friendly and helpful-nothing is too much trounle. The outdoor roof terrace where breakfast...

This is our third holiday in Skiathos and our second time at the Alkyon. It's basic by UK standards, but for Greece is very good. Rooms are spotless, cleaned every day, and we had a bath with a proper shower which you don't always get in Greek hotels. The lounge areas are lovely, and the view from the roof terrace...

Friendly reception staff who were helpful when required. Hotel from outside looks quite nice, but it is much bigger than it looks. 4 Floors of very long corridors. The doors to the rooms along the corridor are painted and makes it look like a prison. Rooms are very sparing, bathroom had been updated and was ok, our towels were fine...

We started to feel apprehensive when the receptionist insisted that the Accommodation Provider (Magic Rooms!!) had not informed the hotel of our request for a double room, on one of the higher floors with a sea view as stated on our booking confirmation, and that as the hotel was full our request could not be met. The room we were...
