Majestic: this word is not an overstatement when it comes to the Electra Palace hotel in Thessaloniki. Built in one of the most impressive city squares of Greece, Aristotelous Sq., facing the endless sea of the Thermaikos Gulf, its architecture at once imposing and noble, it is one of the city's architectural gems. Inside the hotel's byzantine-inspired exterior, hides a neoclassical heart: wood paneling, marble inlay and wooden floors, plush carpets, cabriole and chesterfield sofas, ornate furniture, luxurious details, generous amenities and, of course, breathtaking views: on a clear day one can easily see as far as mount Olympus across the gulf. Beneath the Electra Palace Thessaloniki's windows and balconies, lies the lively center of a vibrant city: Aristotelous Square. In between city square and mighty mountain, the expansive horizon, the endless blue of the sea. Right in the heart of city, the Electra Palace Thessaloniki is ideally located whether you are in town for business or pleasure: within walking distance from the shopping district, the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center, most major monuments, museums and sites, the Ladadika area and right across from Olympion cinema that hosts the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, it is the place to stay when meeting with business partners, attending trade shows, enjoying the city's rich cultural scene or exploring its nightlife. Featuring comfortable, well equipped rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym and spa, a wonderful restaurant on the top floor, and the renowned Electra Hotels and Resorts service, it is also the par excellence place to unwind and relax, enjoying unparalleled views and the hospitality you deserve.

Although my wife and I often visit Thessaloniki, it was the first time we stayed at this emblematic hotel. Unfortunately.. If you stay at this hotel, there is no return to go and stay at another hotel in the city. Quality, level, excellent facilities, and the staff who are simply perfect. The hospitality we received was exemplary, and the hotel's services are on another level. We had booked a superior room on the 3rd floor with a view of the square and the sea, excellent. allthough i have to mention that there was some noise from below despite the soundproofing. The breakfast was very good both in terms of variety and quality.Definately it is expensive but this is compensated by the perfection in every small detail of the stay.Highly reccommended!

We had three nights here in early September, and the hotel met all our needs and more. Our spacious, airy room on the 6th floor had a generous private balcony with a fantastic view over the square and out to sea - we could have spent hours sitting there watching city life going on below. Staff were pleasant and cheerful, despite the COVID restrictions, and we felt quite safe with obvious regular cleaning of public areas and lots of hand sanitiser stations around the building.

Breakfast was good and the staff are working very hard, but having to direct guests around the dining area so they can choose their items and be served was proving a bit of a muddle - some clearer direction would have helped guests and made it easier for the staff. However most people were respectful of each other's space.

We didn't eat at the restaurant as there are so many wonderful places to eat in Thessaloniki, but we wished we had had a bit more time to relax at the bar and use the pool area - it all looks great.

We really fell for the city and want to return next year, so we will definitely use this hotel again. Many thanks to all staff.

We stayed here for three nights after finally managing to break out of the UK during this pandemic. The location is excellent - right in the Centre. The staff were excellent - friendly and attentive. Our room was clean and modern and the roof top bar and small pool were stunning. The views from the rooftop across Aristotelis Square to the sea are amazing.

They had everything covered in terms of Covid - masks throughout communal areas, staff wearing masks; they asked whether you wanted the room cleaning etc etc. Breakfast although buffet style was served up by the staff so you had to queue and then ask for what you wanted. This is my only criticism as the staff were run ragged by this and guests weren’t sure where to stand for food resulting in confusion and big queues. Also you had to download a QR code from the TV for your ticket number which we didn’t know about on the first day as we hadn’t been told and didn’t have our TV on. Apart from that would certainly rate our stay as very good and would return in the future.

Dear Ms.Shantele72 , Thank you for your preference to Electra Palace Thessaloniki and for your detailed review. We are really delighted to know that you enjoyed our Roof Garden , our fully renovated rooms and mostly our service! Please kindly note that we have to apply all Covid-19 restrictions for our valued guests'. In these terms the buffet style serving lasts a little bit longer and has to be arranged and controlled by our staff. We hope that you had a great time in Thessaloniki after all and we look forward to welcoming you soon ! Kind Regards, Dimitra Nikoli PR & Business Development Manager

This is a top quality hotel in the best location in Thessaloniki. We have visited many times but this was the first since the refurbishment which has made it even better with a contemporary and stylish feel whilst retaining the classic grandeur of scale and luxury.

Turnover in a city hotel is very high yet the breakfast staff remembered our orders and were extremely efficient in managing a high volume of customers, keeping tables cleared and replenishing the excellent breakfast choice. It’s great to see that the buffet breakfast has been retained as so many UK hotels have stopped this. One of our party needed gluten free options and this was fully understood by the management and staff and accommodated without any fuss.

The roof top restaurant and cocktail bar used to be full of local people in the evenings but is now reserved mainly for guests to enjoy and feel safe. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace one evening and had a wonderful special meal on another occasion. We understand that there is a new chef and would highly recommend the food. It was beautifully presented, delicious and the service was discrete and efficient.

Protective gloves are provided for all guests at breakfast as well as a complementary mask and hand gel in the room. COVID protocols and cleaning regimes were strictly observed by staff and management and this is the best that we have seen anywhere.

Rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and the new bathrooms have excellent walk in powerful showers, fluffy towels and are well equipped with Korres products. Cleaning is daily, and to a very high standard, unlike some UK hotels.

The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Thessaloniki with fantastic views from the rooms at the front and side. 6th floor rooms have comfortable sofas and chairs to enjoy the views, and watch the hustle and bustle of the city, which never sleeps, below. It is close to the Ladadika area which was full of life all day and evening with lots of choice to eat and drink and close to the shopping area and markets.

This is simply the best hotel to stay, in Thessaloniki.

Hotel needs to be more Vigilant during these times.

When one enters the lobby Reception are constantly telling people to wear Masks which is totally correct.

However at Breakfast this morning it was Scary in Fact Chaotic.

No social distancing at Buffet ..In fact it was not even 6 inches Apart.

2 serving Buffet ..1 floor manager who was issuing instructions and 1 person replenishing buffet.

Did not feel comfortable.
On Exiting Had to speak to Floor Manager re the Number of people in Hall Waiting as We had to Pass

Having stayed in Corfu and Ouranpolis I expected same standards However this was not the case.

Electra Palace needs to up their Standards.

The room we were given on check in had Bathroom Shower leaking ..in fact Bathroom floor was very wet...
I find it hard to believe that Housekeeping were not aware of issue as seal was obviously gone in Shower.
We were moved to another similar room with Terrible views as photos show.
We were given a bottle of Wine....

Classic rooms in this hotel are really suitable for 1 person as they are very compact.
All in All DISSAPOINTED and would not recommend during these present times.

This is now one of my favourite hotels ever! We booked a family room, which as advertised is 2 interconnecting rooms, with 2 bathrooms, and a balcony with sea view - it was excellent value for money. The staff are all charming and helpful, and the rooftop breakfast a lovely experience. I think the rooms over the square may have some street noise, but not enough to spoil the experience. Generally a lovely place and I would be interested to try the Electra Palace in other parts of Greece.

Good City Hotel in the middle of the centre.
We had a side sea view room which was spacious and had a lovely little balcony from where you could see the sea and the big square. The bathroom has everything you need including a big shower.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was nice it was buffet and even in these Covid times it worked (you point they get it) and you can order your eggs at the table.
They also have valid parking (which costs 15 euro per day for a small car).
A lot of nice restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is a no-brainer regarding location and style; it is not cheap, even for context, but the 25% more do give you a good experience. My newly renovated room was relatively low, but there was no noise problem; the view (when leaning out) was great. The pool is basically decoration only, and the elevators are slow, but as one can see, that doesn't prevent me from assigning five stars. The excellent staff (especially F&B), the wonderful, indeed great breakfast buffet (safety, spread, view), the room amenities incl. very nice Korres supplies in the bathroom, and an overall stylishness make this a modern, relaxed five-star - both in category and in rating. I would certainly be back.

Kudos to the whole staff! Stayed over for a night at a junior suite. From the first to the last moment we felt safe and cared for. The whole place smells cleanliness and freshness. Every single detail in the room and the common areas was taken care of regarding the covod-19. We have been to many hotels this past year but this was the first time that we have seen such a strict protocol applied. Breakfast was of high quality and variety, having staff serve you. Smiling people, with a great sense of hospitality. Right at the heart of the city, this is truly a 5 star super safe experience!

Hi George The pool area is quite small but there are some sunbeds. You would have to be up early to score one I think. We didn’t swim but the pool looked inviting, situated on the rooftop next to the bar… stunning views! Cheers Graham
