My partner and I booked a couples massage whilst on holiday for the Easter vacation. The hotel is stunning and due to its ages has a quirky layout. We were a tad disappointed when we did not get the website advertised warm foot bath to begin with and I was particularly cold throughout the 50min treatment. In the end I'd...

It has a lovely environment with great restaurant. Amazing view of the city. Very good restoration of the ottoman imaret showing respect in the heritage and the tradition of the historic monument. A luxurious hotel that gives you the full experience of a ottoman imaret back in the days.

The entrance of the reknown hotel was almost inappropriate for what it finally entailed. But the rest of it,the gardens, the cocooning rooms with this touch oforiental luxury, the exquisite swimming pool with the aromatic flowers, the relaxing almost sensual turkish baths, the very delicious food of the small but excellent restaurant with the fabulous view of the city and the very polite and...

Three things impressed me at the "Imaret": Firstly, its history and tradition. Secondly, its elegance and good taste that has the "stamp" of Mrs. Missirian. Thirdly, the politeness of its staff, led by the excellent manager Mr. Yalidis. "Imaret" is a great place to visit and I will surely visit it again! PS Try the spa services!

We stopped here for one night on our way from Istanbul to Thessaloniki by car and were very very glad that we did it. We stayed in a beautiful room that formerly was the library of the Imaret. The complex which was a school during the Ottoman period has been perfectly converted into a luxury hotel without loosing its original...

I was staying in Kavala and did a half hour guided tour of the Imaret. The tour lady spoke very good english and took us to the gardens, original kitchens, prayer rooms, and to as much of the hotel that she could without imposing on the guests. Was lovely and the views of Kavala harbour were beautiful.

We stayed one night in this beautiful hotel and cannot fault anything. The building has great historic significance so had to be restored carefully and without major changes. This has been done with the best materials and loving attention to detail so the whole experience of staying there is like a return to the days of Mehmet Ali with subtle...

We travelled from Thessaloniki to Kavala to have a coffee or drink in Imaret. After finding the entrance (which was dfficult because the complex has lots of entrances, locked and no signage to tell you where the entrance of the cafe is) a very polite girl in the reception, told us that because the hotel has many guests the cafe...

It was really a nice experience to visit this monument and have a dinner in their restaurant. It was a little bit expensive but you pay the wonderful view and the delicious food. Everything was tasty and we really liked the ice-cream with the chocolate at the top.

Imaret is a historic place having played an significant role in the newer history of Kavala. Recently renovated and turned into a hotel the place carries the charm of the past. The rooms are comfortable and the few from the terrace is absolutely beautiful. Very good cuisine. (Unfortunately, breakfast's not included, but there are small cafes all around where you...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Imaret is a world apart, a rare jewel, where East meets West in Northern Greece. A historical monument crowning the hillside overlooking the picturesque harbour of Kavala, the hotel combines the grandeur of Greek Roman and Byzantine Style with a scent of the orient, and the elegance of Hellenic hospitality. The building was the gift of Mehmet Ali, modernising ruler of Egypt in the 1800's, to Kavala, his birthplace. ... more   less
