Stayed for a week in October/November. Yannis is the best host ever - kind, generous and knowlegable. Daily gifts of wine and fruit and souvenirs for the family back home. Building/rooms full of character and very well equipped. Great location with easy access to both the old town and beach. We accidently left some clothing and Yannis insisted on posting... More

Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable with an elegant touch and a central position in the old romantic Rethimno, close to the beach and restaurants or shops. Big, bright rooms providing everything you need.Warm and generous welcoming. Thank you so much Yannis, words are not enough to express my gratitude for your hospitality, generosity, the lovely gifts you kindly offered me. I'll always... More

We chose this place randomly for a short stay in Rethymno, but we didn't expect to be so lucky. Two days spent at the beautiful Afroditi, the elegantly refurbished ex French embassy, were the highlight of a special holiday. Yannis, the owner, is the best host you could possibly meet, genuinely friendly, resourceful and happy to help in any situation.... More

As all reviews highlight, Yannis is an exceptional host. He met us from the shuttle bus and walked the short distance with us to the hotel. This was very welcome as the hotel is tucked away in one of the side streets in the old town. Our room was on the first floor, spacious and very clean. There was fruit,... More

The difference between real hospitality and fake smiles is huge. Yannis is the most considerate host we've met in the hundreds of hotels we've been to. The Afroditi is the old French embassy, which has been given a top to bottom make-over by Yannis. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the old town, yet without street noise.... More

We stayed here during a trip to a few different Greek islands. Yannis was one of the most hospitable owners we have ever stayed with. He absolutely went out of his way to welcome us, gave us fruit and wine on arrival and was so helpful throughout, offering a room upgrade and lots of information about the town and restaurants.... This hotel was perfect and the owner Yannis was the nicest gentleman you could ever meet in the service industry. On our first night we were a bit lost in transit and he was in the village square to meet us from our taxi at 1 am. It was like seeing a long lost relative. The rooms were very comfortable... More

The hotel is in a great location close to the shops, old town and harbour, with plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The rooms were lovely, lots of character and spotlessly clean. There was everything you needed-free reliable wifi, A/C, cooker, washing machine, juicer, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, hair dryer, mosquito plug ins, tea, coffee, herbs... More

My husband and I are travelling for 9 weeks and we have been staying in a lot of hotels. This one is right up there in terms of value for money and a really great experience. Perfectly located in the Old Town of Rethymno, Crete, with a host who goes a very long way out of his way to ensure... More
