Alkionides hotel consists of two separate buildings, an older one which is currently refurbished to fulfill the needs of the most demanding customer and a new luxurious one. We have decorated them in a greek traditional way to make our customers feel they are living their own myth in a land of culture and civilization! The hotel has a swimming pool and a bar restaurant open until late hours.

Had a 9 night break in July 2022 via Booking.com. Superb room with jacuzzi bath, small kitchen area incl hob and fridge, all at a good daily rate which included an excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel is right on the beach and offers sunbeds etc. at €7 per day or €45 per week. It has a nice bar and restaurant that is very reasonable. Within a 3 minute walk you are at the quieter end of Platanias where there is an abundance of good quality restaurants. The busier end of the town is no more than 10 mins walk and has a few more cocktail type bars. There is a local supermarket where you can buy most things you will need to make sandwiches etc. and of course by some drink for your fridge. The beach is a bit stoney but the sea is lovely. The hotel hosted a Greek food and music night each week. Definately a great place to experience Greek family hospiltality. Thank you for a great time.

Perfect one week holiday at the beach with nice views, close to Chania and in very nice Platanias town. Personell extremely friendly and felt like „at home“. We were in a newly renovated room (superior double) which was great. Excellent value for money. Will certainly come back and recommend

Our room had a separate bedroom to the living/kitchen. Very spacious. Great shower. Terraced area to sit in the evening with a glass of local wine. Perfectly located for the beach and the town with numerous restaurants. Breakfast self serve apart from bacon and egg if you choose. Perfect break and so glad we booked a year in advance.

Hotel has a lovely chilled vibe, right on the beach so you can hear the waves from your room. Situated by lots of bars an restaurants so plenty to keep you busy. Family run hotel an they couldn’t be nicer people, nothing is to much Trouble. Breakfast s so nice with added extras such as home made jam an marmalade (best I’ve ever tasted). I visited right at the beginning of the season so hotel is very quite, nothing like having the pool an beach to yourself. Thank you to the family for a fabulous holiday, an involving my son an me in your Easter celebrations. So nice here I don’t want to leave, I will definitely be returning. Thank you again. Xx

An authentic Greeck Atmosphere, top service in the bar and Kitchen, the family really do everything to make you feel special. The beach and water is 40 meter from restaurant, so 🏖️😎 enjoy to visit, about the rooms, new and fine bathroom, never seen better in Greece

Very nice hotel for the price, our apartment was beautiful! Absolutely no concerns about it, except maybe beware of thin walls if you are easily disturbed by neighbors, cars etc. The apartment was beautifully decorated and was cleaned every day. The balcony was nice, you could sit outside and eat or chat. The pool area was a bit small, you could not fit many sunbeds there. The pool itself was nice and clean, but small. The restaurant at the hotel, the pool bar, served very nice food. It had a large selection of meals and everything we tried was delicious. Around 5-10€ per dish, so not very expensive. Breakfast was served at the pool bar, everything tasted good and I very much enjoyed the fact that they served darker bread as well, not just white. You were served coffee or tea, 1 glass of fresh juice, 3 different kinds of bread, cheese, ham, vegetables, butter and marmalade. Then you could choose one of the following: eggs (fried/scrambled/boiled etc), pancakes or yoghurt with fruit. The beach was made mostly out of rocks, not sand. 2 sunbeds cost 6€ per day, even for people who stayed at the hotel, which we did not know beforehand. The staff were very friendly, if there was any problems or concerns they fixed it immediately. For example our balcony door was difficult to open, so they came up to our room and showed us how to open it right away. Nice location as well, only 5 min walk to the bus stop, where you can take the bus to Chania. It is in the middle of Platanias, so lots of supermarkets, shops and restaurants around. However the hotel itself is closely surrounded by other hotels. For the price, this hotel is great. For me, the only thing that brings it from a 5 to a 4 is the wifi. Wifi was only available at the pool bar, it didn't even reach to the pool or beach. During our stay the weather was not very nice, so we spent a lot of time in our room and it would have nice to have wifi there. Same for when you were laying on the beach. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

A really nice and quiet place, and the staff is so friendly. It is cleen and homely. Located on the beach. Lot of flowers colored the place. Have their own taverna and swimmingpool. Some apartments are recently renovated.

Absalutley loved staying at this hotel. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean. The rooms are large and nicely decorated and well equipped. The hotel is on the beach front which is fabulous for the kids. Within a two minute walk you will find a huge array of shops, restraunts, cafes, supermarkets and amusements such as crazy golf and go karts, however there is no noise near the hotel its self. Breakfast at this hotel is outstanding! We could never eat everything that was brought for us..but we gave it a good go! It really was beautiful food. We ate most lunch/tea times at this hotel as the food was so good and very well priced. The staff were just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They always made time to make sure everything was just right. I highly recommend this hotel.

Again we had the opportunity to visit Alkionides, this for a week early in april. Although we were the first guests this season, everything was well prepared; the pool and taverna was open, the umprellas and sunbeds available on the beach. Service from staff is exceptional, from cleaning staff to management. Located on beach with one totally renovated building where you find both hairdryer and coffemaker. Cleaning is of highest class and towels were changed two times during this week, also bedlinens were changed. Nothing to improve ? Wi-fi should be availble in the rooms, it was said this would be available in a few weeks.

Unless it's imperative to be on the beach then go somewhere else. Very poor value, £70 per night for a tiny room. Air con is extra as are the sunloungers. Is right on beach though if that's what you want. I didn't particularly, I wanted to lounge by the pool. Impossible with the dozens of teenagers playing volleyball in said pool. Continually hit by stray balls, owners not interested as the Scandinavian families are their bread and butter. Left early for UK drizzle
