Detailed Reviews
My wife and I just spent 3 wonderful days at this hotel. This is a 4 + star hotel with excellent facilities and great access to coastal vistas, the old town, numerous restaurants and shops.
The hotel is appealing as soon as you walk in the front door and you are immediately made feel welcome. Special mention is made of Nikolas, Vaso, and Rena who are very professional and focussed on creating a welcoming experience for travelers. Service, meals, hotel presentation, all represent value for money and ensure a delightful stay for those visiting this idyllic location as part of their tour through Crete.

This hotel is a beautiful hotel in the perfect area of downtown Chania. It is located close to the shops and old harbour which contains many restaurants. When you first enter the hotel it has a lobby with many chairs and couches. It has 2 elevators that fit 3-4 people. They had great wifi and offered 1 free drink for the bar on the 1st floor.
The rooms were beautiful and had either a double with a single bed, or 2 double beds. The rooms had a doorbell so guests did not have to knock loudly. The rooms contained a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. Some rooms had a shower, while others also included a bath tub. The rooms had slippers, an iron board with iron, fridge (with a complimentary bottle of water) and safe, and a closet with hangers. The bathroom has a great shower, but fogs up the bathroom so no one else can do anything at the same time. The room has great technology but a downside to it: you need your room key to turn power on in the room. No key=no power (ie. Air conditioning, power outlets). So you won't have a cool room when you get in, or items charged while gone. Ask for a second key if possible.
One thing that was amazing was the free "greek breakfast". It was a buffet breakfast that was covid safe and included hot and cold items. Hot items: eggs- scrambled, boiled, sunny side, bacon, veggies. Cold items: 3 sliced meats, 2 cheeses, yogurt with a variety of fruit toppings, toast, buns, cereals. Desserts: too may to list with many types of fruit. Also 2 types of juices and coffee or tea.

We had selected Kydon Hotel for 3 nights of our Chania visit. I would like to begin with how polite and friendly was all the staff. Special mention to the ladies at the breakfast. They offered us a free water bottle everyday and raki and sweets in order to welcome us. Besides that, they treated us with a cocktail or drink to the hotel bar, with great view of the city. Of course they let us leave our luggage both at the check-in and the check-out. The hotel was across the ancient Agora and very close to the old city. The breakfast was satisfying with tasty options, from Cretan delicacies like Chaniotiki Bougatsa 🔝 , marathopita etc. to smoked salmon and croissants. There was also squeezed orange juice. The local dishes rotated from one day to another. Regarding to this, I would, personally preferred, the existence of more local dishes permanently and not rotating. In addition, we had booked the Classic Double Room, which was 18 sq.m. but it seemed smaller, I don’t know why. An advantage is for sure that the room has its own ironing system and you could use it for free. We haven’t see this again to any other hotel we had visited in the past. To conclude, we would visit this hotel again.

The Kydon is a very nice, modern hotel which is only a 5 minute walk to the old town and harbor. The breakfast buffet is exceptional and the waitstaff is very attentive and professional. All staff wore mask and gloves and guests wee required to wear masks in the restaurant unless sitting at the table. Disposable plastic Gloves were provided and required of guests when getting food form the breakfast buffet

By any standards, this is a good hotel. It is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The jewel in the crown of this establishment is the staff; they are smart, professional, efficient and extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise them highly enough. Covid regulations were implemented and adhered to strictly during our time there. The location in the very centre of the town means guests are easily able to explore the old town on foot without the need for a taxi, bus or hire car. The food is very good.
Situated as it is, at the intersection of four busy roads, it is also noisy. The hotel does not have a pool or a gym and this may also be a drawback for some guests. It is perhaps a little overpriced for the facilities on offer. Being an international hotel, once you walk through the doors you could be anywhere in the world. This is purely a personal opinion but on reflection, we might have preferred something with more of a local feel to it. In conclusion, I can only reiterate that the Kydon is, by any standards, a good hotel. You pay your money, you make your choice.

My wife and I visited Crete in September encouraged by our son and his wife who had been there months before. They stayed at a different hotel. I chose Kydon because of the number of positive reviews, but at the end of it all I was a little bit disappointed though not unsatisfied. The hotel seems to enjoy a lot of hype but I have been to far better hotels with better service.
To come to the point, The signing in at the hotel was marred by being informed that a la carte dinner was not available for the following three days and a buffet was offered instead. I complained that I was not happy with this arrangement and would try it one time and then decide. I found the selection limited and mostly cheaper offerings. The same could be said for breakfast the next morning. Perhaps I'm too demanding. In any case the nexxt day I spoke to one of the staff and we were offered to eat a la carte at the Square restaurant and we ended eating there every day. The menu here isn't something to speak about. Some dishes were good but not exceptional and as the days passed it became much of the same thing.
As regards the room itself, it was decent in both size and decor but rather too run of the mill. I had chosen the Superior double but at the end of the day, it has no worthwhile additions; same decor, same size, same layout, same balcony, same bathroom, etc.
As regards the bathroom, this is equipped with a bath a sink basin and a toilet. Let me say that on the evening we entered we noticed two hairs, one in the toilet bowl and the other in the bath, which we washed away with water. Secondly, the grout around the bath was breaking which was unsightly.. The bath was narrow and a person of some stature would not be able to shower without constantly hitting the wall and the glass panel The panel itself was not wide enough to prevent water spilling onto the floor. Luckily, the maid changed all towels every day, which was a good thing.
On a positive note the staff were extremely curteous and friendly and reception provided free towels for the days we went on the beach.
If one had to ask me whether we would go again, my answer would be that knowing that there were other better offerings out there the answer would be no. It may be a perception, but I felt that the stay fell below my expections. It is still a good hotel, but it needs to carry out some introspection if it wants to go one better and make it a fabulous hotel. It is not far off.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely hotel. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the efficiency of the housekeeping. We went out every day we were there and would return around 2.00 pm to our room and every time our room had been cleaned and bed made up. We have been to hotels where the room hadn't been done or was being done and had to wait around. This was not the case with the Kydon. The staff were so friendly. The only grudge we had was we found the air conditioning not great. We set the temperature but it was not very efficient and when it did come on it was very cold and blasted out the air vent and it made the room much cooler than we wanted. The actual room was great but the bathroom area could have been bigger. For a 10 night stay it would have been nicer to have had more storage space for 2 people. We found the location was good, not being far from restaurants and gift shops and the lovely harbour.

We stayed for one night and it ticked all the boxes. Easy to find, parking, central location. We could walk from the hotel easily into the Old Town with plenty of atmosphere and lots of choices for dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom offers everything you may have forgotten - toothbrush & paste, shaving kit, shower caps and shower gel. My only comment is that our upstairs neighbours got up at 6am and were noisy so bring earplugs and you won’t be disturbed.

Great hotel in central location. We were on the 5th floor which meant we had a great view of the sunrises/sunsets. Friends of ours were on a lower floor but unfortunately their balcony faced another building so they didn’t get a good as view, so if you want a good view definitely try to book the higher floors. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times including a 24/hr reception and security and as a group of girls travelling this made us feel much safer. Our booking agency forgot to inform the taxi agency of our pick up from the airport so we wanted to make sure we avoided the same issue upon departure. The hotel very kindly helped us sort this out and spoke to the taxi agency in Greek which made booking the car much easier. Housekeeping staff were also very friendly stopping to say hi whenever we walked past. Breakfast staff were also very helpful, as soon as we sat down we were offered tea and coffee and if they can get us anything and done so with such a big smile on their faces. Only notes I have is that there wasn’t a very varied option at breakfast so for anyone with dietary needs this should be noted and unfortunately no swimming pool. Upon seeing the size of the hotel I do believe they could fit an indoor swimming pool.

The hotel is very central and well located in Chania Town, but there is room for improvement in certain aspects.
One of the issues of this hotel is the noise that is constantly heard in the bedroom through the corridor. The cleaning ladies talk out loud during the morning starting at 8:00 AM, and they noisily open and close (Service) doors.
There are also other very strange noises starting very early in the morning, typically hammering, which makes us wonder if there was some renovation work ongoing.
The bathroom is a bit outdated and sure needs a renovation, as there was a small window that one couldn´t open, and it has a very strong light in the ceiling that is uncomfortable.
Also, the pillows of the bed are very thick and uncomfortable.
Even though the breakfast room and the food offer are ok and the staff is very friendly and polite.

We use with a 4 way USB travel charger, so one socket is all we need. Sorry but cannot really remember if it was near the bedside.
However, lovely hotel & great location.
Are you asking if the hotel posts reviews, or guests? I am unclear as to what exactly you are asking. I have posted a review on TA following my recent visit there.
Thank you very much for your message.
We are glad to inform you that our hotel has parking facilities.
