We have just returned from a week at the beautiful Miramare Resort & Spa. Yes it is built into a mountain so there are steps and slopes but they are doable - unless you have mobility difficulties then best to avoid. We were Bed & Breakfast only so cant comment on All Inclusive. The breakfast however was fabulous, lots of choice - we are early risers so were always seated immediately however latecomers did have to queue on the stairs. So why the title 'Avoid the Dungeons'? We booked with TUI, i had upgraded to the double room with sea view and all promotional material showed stunning views and bright airy rooms. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were taken to our room - I immediately asked for a change of room and was told there was no manager on site on a Sunday to agree this. The room was not light and airy - room 303 was a ground floor room. There is one access point (unlike the higher room that have a door and a patio door. The one access point is a heavy metal door, this is next to a small window that has metal shutters on the outside. In order to have ANY privacy whatsoever in the room, the shutters must be closed - obscuring the sea view and rendering the room in total and complete darkness. The room is situated next to a walkway - i came out of the shower in order to dress and the shutter was open - and the gardener was outside the window. The small shower room has a grid in the middle of the floor, the soft furnishings are dirty and old....the bed cover in particular is that yellowy baby poo colour - we were told the room would only be serviced once in the week. Anyway, i contacted TUI over the app the following day and was told that the team had been told to change my room. Thank you TUI - our next room 602 WAS light, airy and serviced daily. So avoid the dungeons - if you are booking, make sure you are not given one of the rooms 301 to 308 overlooking the palm pool. The palm pool is ok but not very clean - it is small and not all the beds have parasols. its seen better days.......so we went on a climb (it wasnt bad 30 or so steps) to one of the larger pools- this was immaculately clean - plenty of sunbeds although only a few have parasols. Views are fabulous - there are many terraces that dont seem to be used for anything in particular - perhaps they were pre covid. The staff are helpful and will print off your locator forms and boarding passes for you. So all in all a great hotel, in a very pretty resort. So glad we booked the B & B instead of AI as eating out was varied and reasonably priced. There are so many lovely places to eat and drink.

This was actually the first time we've stayed in a resort like this - with all the bungalows, villas, pools etc. We were lucky to grab a good deal on price and room upgrade. It is probably fully sufficient for people who don't want to leave premises. If you do go out to the Agios Nikolaos town, it is a 20mins walk. Our room was spacios, comfortable, with a bath-tub in the bathroom. The balcony offered an amazing view over the pool, sea and mountains in the distance. Breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, with local products available. Just be aware the resort is located on a steep hill - be prepared to use the elevator or walk a lot.

As ever, Trip Advisor is all about opinions...and this is mine😀 Good - Excellent staff throughout the hotel: Nice, modern room (311): plenty of sunbeds at pool: great views throughout hotel: breakfast excellent: room cleaned/fresh towels daily: beach towels provided: COVID procedures followed, particularly in restaurant (all guests made to wear gloves at food stations): Not so good - lots of uphill walking around hotel, no matter where you are going: lack of and choice of snacks for A/I guests during day: lack of sockets in bedroom: cannot take drinks to your room: Disappointing - I felt the choice of food at dinner was lacking, as well as always lukewarm, irrespective of what time you ate: entertainment was really disappointing - I wasn’t expecting the Eurovision Song Contest, but there was a piano player and a couple of singers and no effort made to engage with guests Overall, I did enjoy my stay at Miramare but will not return,

The reviews on this page worried me before I travelled, but I'm here at the moment and have felt pampered throughout my stay so far. The room is beyond what I'd hoped with plenty of space and stunning views across the beach and sea. In the restaurant I once requested a table near a window / outside and since this the matre'd has offered tables meeting this every time (on all inclusive so 3 times a day). The seafood meal at the al a carte was beautiful, really attentive service and the snapper was delicious. The complex is on a hill and covid advice guides against using the lifts if you can, so daily exercise is built in! (but less great if you have mobility difficulties - rooms close to reception would be best to choose if this is the case). Near to Agios Nikolaos and 2 beaches. I came to relax and thats what the team here are making possible, thank you!

We arrived for a last minute family holiday for a week all inclusive, we arrived late at night, check in was quick which was welcomed as we were all tired. Nice touch them handing over sandwiches too. Staff are impeccable - extremely attentive and very very hard working. The two which stood out above the rest was Giannis and the hotel manager, their service was outstanding. Something you’d expect from a 5* hotel. Nothing to complain about on the hotel/food and service however it would have been nice to have drinks making facilities in the room and an iron - we had an ironing board but no iron. Safe measures applied throughout the hotel in relation to COVID-19. Eugenes abhorrent review was rather harsh in my opinion but there’s no pleasing everyone I guess!
