We stayed at Ambrosia for four days in a triple room & we absolutely loved it. The price is fair , the rooms are very clean and organized and the staff are so friendly and helpful ( we asked for directions, tour guides etc.. and we always received good recommendations.) The food is average though but it's fair considering the price . While there is a balcony, the view is very basic but we weren't looking for a good view anyway. The only downside is that the neighborhood isn't that safe but we personally never encountered anything ; we actually loved the fact that the hotel is only minutes away from the Omonoia station as we were using the metro most of the time.
Lovely clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Easy reach of all attractions. Only thing downside is that there is no coffee making facilities in the room. Would have been nice to make a coffee first thing in the morning.
I stayed in the hotel recently for 4 nights with my partner the room we had (a suite) was very nice and well presented the breakfast Which was included was very good and all the staff were very helpful and friendly and also it is very convenient for public transport although Omonia Square is a bit tatty but it looks like re-construction work is underway I would definitely stay there again if I return to Athens
Pros: clean hotel, nice staff, sheets changed daily, hot water from the first second, aircon, breakfast included (excelent food, wide variety, plenty for everyone) Cons: Not the best neighborhood in town. One of the best value for money in Athens: 276 euros for a group of 8/ 2 nights /2 rooms/breakfast included!
We stayed fortunately for one night only Due to lack of other options in athens thia day. I would give this place 2 stars max. . The location is not so good and the smell in the room is so heavy and bad we couldnt sleep. If you open the window there ia a loud traffic noise. The bed is covered with ugly matress. The breakfast ok. The only possitive is the price.
The hotel is located just by Omonia square with walking distance to most of the sites in Athens. The immediate surroundings are a bit worn down but nothing to be worried about. The rooms were clean and in good condition. The beds are as always a bite hard... The staff is very friendly and professional. You will get help and good tips regarding restaurants and round trips etc. The breakfast is ok but staying for six nights as we did you would appreciate some variations. I would gladly return.
Overall given the price have said average. Read the reviews and numerous were positive and although liked the stay it’s worth noting a few items: Felt the pics were different to the actual room. Room was clean but felt the bathroom was newer than the hotel room itself. The balcony is a balcony but not one you would want to use as looks on to a tower block. Our room on the 6th floor wasn’t noisy although as a light sleeper could hear the lift moving occasionally. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast fairly good by Greek standards. The hotel is a stones throw away from Onomia tube station. The area around the hotel isn’t fantastic with “ladies of the night” on a nearby corner so if young or vulnerable could feel intimidated. The area (albeit loads of Athens) feels run…
Breakfast is very good. Excellent communication with staff prior to beginning my stay (Mr. Sakis and Mr. Anthony) they were very helpful and facilitated airport transfer and cruise booking for me in advance. Location is very good, just few meters from Omonia square. Actually the neighborhood is not that modern or luxurious but it is very practical to stay there with access to several restaurants and shops. Another good point is the access to metro and the major hop on hop off buses. On the other hand, few minus points such as mall bathroom with no exhaust fan. Not enough mosquito repellent liquid vaporizer for all rooms.
I made the reservation through hotels.com for the 20th April night. When we reached the Ambrosia Hotel to check-in, the hotel manager shifted us to another hotel (Epidavros Hotel) stating that there was a major electrical problem in the room and they didn't have another room to spare. We didn't mind the short walk to Epidavros hotel with our luggage and the change in hotel as I was travelling with my wife and wanted to ensure the trip was smooth. More over, the hotel manager said we didn't have to pay anything. The room at Epidavros seemed to be a lot smaller and of an inferior quality to what we had paid for. This made me visit your website to see if it was of the same category and cost. The room night at Epidavros was significantly cheaper. We didn't not get a similar…
The appartment was fine, only the shower caused minor problems, the shower curtain especially. Wifi worked well, the breakfast was decent and the staff very helpful. Location is lively, with Omonia Square around the corner..
