Met by unsmiling, abrupt male, full payment before sighting room so unable to move hotel without loosing all week's money. Bathroom door won't close, nor wardrobe doors. Very noisy even with bought earplugs. Bathroom patched up, chrome off shower hose handle which you have to hold as no way of hanging up. When you turn hot water tap on, you...

Centrally located and close to Omonia Metro Station. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. I asked for a non smoking room, and they kindly upgraded me to the top floor. They also have a very good internet wifi through out the hotel. They do a continental breakfast for 5 Euro, but you can do better in any cafe...

Very good, value for money, clean and excellent staff besides its opposite a souvenir shop. I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff trying to be of help. They speak Engish well despite that Greeks speak their native language mainly. Good stuff.

The location is very convinient (3 min away from Omonia subway station). Besides it's in the main street, so you have no shady corners to pass in the night! Hotel looks renovated, has a good elevator. Strong Wi-Fi signal. The price is great as well! As for the flaws...Our room smelled a bit old. There was no shower holder. It would...

Our room at the Diros was very small, barely enough room for luggage, and we are backpackers so travel light. Window looked out to dreary alleyway, OK for one night but would suggest other places in this area for longer stay.

We were very impressed with the Diros Hotel.. It was centrally located with very easy access from the subway, clean and very economical. Our room had recently been upgraded and was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were small but very adequate. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for lodging that is clean and centrally located.

When I booked this hotel, I was worried because it was too cheap, but after staying there, I am completely satisfied with my choice. Also, stuff was so kind and helpful. The location is almost good, near metro station. By the way, hotel is around 10 minutes far from Acropolis by foot.

Very central 2minutes walking distance to Omonia Square and Omonia Metro station. No breakfast included in the room. But cafes r a few steps away from the hotel. You can have a great meal out there. Speedy WIFI Connection as well. Reasonable prices, helpful reception, low cost hotel comparing to the others. Location was not great but safe. The rooms...

In spite of all the rumours in June 2015 the area was quiet and unpronblematic. The hotel has good value for money.Access was easy and the rooms were clean. No refrigerator in the room so be careful during the summer. AC was working.

We only spent there two nights, and it was perfect because of the price and the size of the bed. The bathroom was terrible.. The shower was ridiculous and the floor looked like a swimming pool after someone showered. The area was ok, not too far from downtown, but a little creepy. The person at the front office was very...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
