It was exactly what we needed. Location is perfect! We walked everywhere. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was simple but fresh and sufficient. The lift was indeed tiny and very slow (as mentioned by others). Have this in mind if you are in a hurry to check out. We had the triple...

Everyone at the front desk was kind and helpful. I hope the management gives them credit for that, as their demeanor really sets the atmosphere of the hotel. The room was nice, fairly basic but clean and nice. My only suggestion is to replace a few of the more threadbare towels and sheets. Thanks for a lovely visit and many...

Excellent location close to the acropolis and Plaka. Lovely staff, nice breakfast, no restaurant but can order in. Noisy main road. Simple clean rooms, comfortable beds. Mini bar. Close to great restaurants nearby.

We have booked a hotel and the whole trip to Athens as a birthday gift to our dear friend. It was a non-refundable reservation, which was the fact. 3 days before the departure our friend's father died suddenly and we had to cancel the whole trip, including flights and hotel reservation. We have sent an email with polite request to...

This is not a large hotel , eight-stories, five-rooms each floor, and a great location 200 meters from the Syntagma (Parliament) Square. Down the street come the crowded square: Monastiraki. A Pedestrian shopping street is parallel to the street of the hotel, one block away. The reception is open 24 hours a day, and a great attitude of the receptionists...

We spent the night before a cruise at the Pan Hotel. The price was fantastic. It is a totally non-smoking property which can be hard to find. The staff were extremely helpful, great location, close to everything. Clean, simple room with comfy beds. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good value.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
