A low cost hotel located in the seedy part of Athens that was just terrible. The AC did not work, the hotel was long overdue for a renovation and everything seemed too be broken. The WiFi was slow and unreliable. Breakfast was a basic Greek fare at best. Good points are few, The reception staff were friendly and the hotel...

The breakfast was great. Room clean everyday. Aircon didn't work the whole time l was there despite that, l opened the sliding door for some air and there was a security door behind to keep you safe but quite noisy from motorbikes if you were at a lower level. Close to Omonia Square which is full of pickpockets if you...

One of many thousands of other hotels… Nothing to make it stand out. Just a clean bed and shower. Is it most comfortable and convenient – no, it is not. Is it sufficient for tourist basic needs, yes it is. Wi-Fi in the rooms will put even the most patient once through the moments of frustration. Connection is so unstable...

Iorgu from reception - worst customer experience I've had - he was very rude, talking with three other persons and at the phone, while we were trying to check-in. After he calmed, we asked to see the room but then again he was rude, saying that they don't have time, and we're not there to see entire hotel. Of course,...

Not a great area to walk around in when you arrive at sunset! Great helpful staff on arrival, who gave us a choice of a room on 9th or 4th floor. Went for 9th but the room is very small with just enough space to walk round the side. The corridors are nicer! Air con barely cooled the room down...

First the place is located around Omonia Square which at times doesn't give your confidence to walk around. Also we booked a triple for the 1 night before we hit up the Islands, we were given a twin room instead. And when we came back we got a double with a fold out couch. Not my definition of a triple...

Having booked this hotel on the back of an airline ticket and then read the revues I was a little apprehensive. However it turned out to be an excellent choice for a traveller seeking a clean no frills hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are a bit tired but so is poor old Greece! But they are clean and everything...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
