1. Convenient location, we got to walk and experience the local area Monastiraki, Omonia and ultimately Plaka. 2. Friendly helpful staff. 3. Our room had a massive balcony with views of the Acropolis. We paid €75, reasonable for Athens I guess.

Nice welcome foyer, nice staff, the rooms are in need of refurbishment. There wasn't any soap on the hand basin - only dispenser soap in the shower, just a tad inconvenient. Finally got the AC to work on the second night. Breakfast was just ok, nothing exciting here and sometimes not enough out for the number of guests. Wi Fi...

I can't explain how bad was that hotel, not only the rooms, the service and the area where is located, but also the management... I've prepayed the room for 12 night, but for some reasons we had to leave 6 days before, and they didn't refound me the rest of the money... And they didn't give me any receipt! Just...

Terrible experience..! No hygiene, no standard, no service, no professionalism &... Requested for king size bed and they provided twin bed, used toilet paper, broken shower, no proper breakfast and list can continue. Never chose that location, as you will never know how real Athens looks like. Definitely I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

I booked this hotel online not knowing much about the neighborhood. When the cab pulled up I wanted to cry. Neighborhood Is dirty and dilapidated. Room was marginal, staff was very nice and helpful. The recent economic situation has done a number on this neighborhood

The main reason I booked this hotel was because of its promise of a bed with a memory foam mattress.. There are none of these in this hotel.. The beds have a basic mattress which I found quite hard.. Breakfast wasn't very good.. There was Greek yogurt but no fruit.. Hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and little Vienna sausage.. The...

Pretty basic hotel. Wifi was very slow at times good for a quick buget stay but I'll be spending a bit more next time. That's all I was going to say but TripAdvisor said it was to short. The walls where thin and the bus full of riot police stationed outside the hotel are the things that spring to mind

The Athens Odeon is a very pleasant little hotel, everything exceeded my expectations in terms of value for money. It's a nice stroll through the Psirri district to get to the Acropolis and the other main attractions. The hotel is situated slightly further north-east than is displayed on Google maps, so do your homework. The staff were very pleasant and...

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
