A lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms have beds that are very comfortable, with plump pillows and all the usual amenities. The bathroom is rather compact! The buffet breakfast is superb, catering for all tastes including vegan with many homemade items. The terrace bar/restaurant has a great view of the Acropolis and the staff are really helpful and...

A nice small hotel not too far from the city center with decent rooms. Close to Omonia metro station and near a parking garage ( they have their own). The opposite road seems a little off as we found it very dark at night with interesting people around and not in the best way. I would probably stay here again...

Apart from the location advantages in the center of Athens, hotel’s quality and services during time are always improving to meet higher standards. Quality rooms, very clean, staff very polite, very good breakfast, excellent value for...

A great location within an easy walk of the main attractions although the surrounding area is very run down but no problems were experienced by us, We were a bit disappointed because having enjoyed our stay here previously on this occasion we were allocated a much smaller less comfortable room for a price increase of €20.00. also there were no...

Great breakfast with all sorts of options of food and juice. Very close to the most important history sights. They have great service and the restaurant at the top has an amazing view at night to see the Parthenon.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
