From our check in to our check out we really enjoyed our stay. It was my birthday the previous week which reception noticed from my passport and it was such a lovely touch to get cake in our room. The weather was terrible but the staff were so helpful on suggestions of what to do and helping us organise spa...

This hotel is in a pretty good location but as other reviews have said be a little careful at night. The staff are all extremely helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very good and lots of space. The breakfast is fantastic. Overall highly recommended for a short break in Athens

Great little hotel, it is a boutique but has a great restaurant and most of the staff are friendly. Just beware of the no go areas behind the hotel are a bit rough we were lucky not to be mugged we were informed later.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and centrally located. Even before we left for our trip, we were contact via email to arrange transportation as well as other options to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is down the street from the Acropolis and within walking distance to the major museums and archeological sites. Anastasia at the reception desk was...

We are seasoned travellers, who have been quite a bit around, and very hard to impress. This place is amongst our top of the list. Not perfect; cleaning is good but not super. Waiters not real sommeliers but understand the wine list, etc. But looking at cost vs quality, this is realy good value for money. We will be back.

Our family recently stayed at the Pallas Athena Hotel. What a delightful experience! This charming hotel features a world of relaxed ambiance and a thoughtful, attentive staff. There is a superb breakfast brunch, overflowing with fresh meat, fish, bread, cheese, vegetables and fruit. And the location is excellent, too—nearby a bustling open market caters to locals buying fresh fruit, vegetables,...

I would not stay any where else in Athens! If you want a delightfully funky hotel, with the best breakfast buffet I've ever seen and a staff that will treat you like royalty, you must stay at Pallas Athena. The night we arrived we were too tired to go out walking so ate in the hotel restaurant, which turned out...

We arrived in the evening off of a ferry from Mykonos so we were tired and hungry. The front desk made check-in easy and gave a great recommendation for dinner. They also upgraded us to a nice room with a huge balcony! We were only there for 2 nights so the location was key in order to squeeze everything in....

Very cute hotel - the decor is extremely fun. It's in the downtown part of Athens and very easy to walk to the sights from the hotel. We stayed in a graffiti room, which was nice, though not overly decorated. We were also pleasantly surprised at the wonderful, elaborate breakfast.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
