We had two fantastic stays here either side of a trip around the rest of Greece. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They even remembered us when we arrived back and welcomed us by name. Breakfast was a simple but delicious buffet. The beds were really comfy and the room was very clean. Great location close to the acropolis....

I had read mixed reviews of this hotel before travelling so I was able bit apprehensive. However, I needn't have worried. Our room was perfect, clean and comfortable, with a balcony, tea & coffee making facilities and a safe. There was hot water at all times, and good quality towels which were changed daily. Toiletries and the hospitality tray were...

Adrian Hotel is situated directly below the Acropolis, which is a 10-15 minute walk up hill but should not be beyond most people. The rooms are light and airy, with air conditioning. The beds were comfortable and the shower is excellent, although like many places the sink is small and cannot be bent over due to the shelf above. This...

We really enjoyed this hotel! It was clean and nicely updated with very helpful staff at the desk 24 hours. The location of the hotel was incredible, it was just steps from a nearby excavation site, and all sorts of shops and cafes. It was also only a few minute walk from the hotel to the Acropolis and Syntagma Square....

Very good location. Clean. For the rest basic. Would suggest it for 3-4 nights but not 10 days or two weeks Friendly staff Cant speak for the roof terrace as it is closed during the winter period. Breakfast is basic

The hotel is at an excellent location. We walked to all the must see sights - Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Hadrian's Library, Roman Agora, Hadrian’s Arc, etc. etc. Taxis have no problem finding it (to/from airport). Reasonably priced eateries all within short walking distance. It's also in the midst of shops. Reception staff: check in & check out less than 2...

What a great choice we made when we booked our stay in Athens at the Hotel Adrian . So centrally located in the Plaka we could tour the ancient sites at our leisure, take a stroll through the lanes and see the amazing fur stores, ecclesiastical shops with everything from icons, chalices, lamps and priests clothing, jewelers and of course...

Excellent budget hotel in the middle of the old town Plaka, with walking-distance to all the sights in Athens. Nice rooms with balconies, modern bathrooms, rooftop breakfast with views to the Acropolis on one side, and the Likavitou on the other. Plenty of good restaurants close to the hotel, and Adrianou street is essential for shopping. Friendly and helpful staff,...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
